I had never been to grants before and I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely food and staff. Really enjoyed our meal and will be back! Maybe lacked a little atmosphere - lights could be lowered a bit, more plants, fairy lights on the ceiling or something, but overall really nice time.

We had an excellent evening at the Horse and Farrier. The food was outstanding with a very creative menu, served by a very friendly team.

Excellent food, fantastic staff and service. We regularly visit, walking over from Pooley Bridge for drinks or food or both and we are never disappointed. Looking forward to our next visit already.

We’ve eaten out at a couple of establishments locally and frankly appreciating the area, they were just not worth the money. This eatery is different, staff were extremely friendly, the food was piping hot, in good quantity and very very tasty. Would highly recommend.

I honestly thought it was excellent - food selection and quality was very good- yes a little bit more expensive than a cheap pub but absolutely worth it - steak and risotto absolutely top notch. Impressed that your house wine was very reasonably priced, and that it was a quiet pub, I was with my elderly mum and loud music is always an issue. Top marks all around !

Lovely pub - very efficient and friendly staff, food was excellent and it was refreshing to have a menu with different and exciting ingredients to the norm. We will definitely be returning - loved it!

Excellent food and service for our valentine meal. The only criticism was that the people on the next table were very noisy.

We enjoyed an excellent meal at the Horse and Farrier. Three of us visited for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the roast.

Our neighbours and we, came on day after reopening, for dinner and a catch up. Each of us chose different mains from the mains, and we’re each wowed by the taste and quality of the offerings. Much different and more exciting than more standard pub fare otherwise locally (which is also good and hearty). But this menu is a step up, and stands out. Thank you. Oh! We then had dessert (boys ordered spoons). Absolutely delish (fyi honeycomb, lime sorbet, cream ice, as components to main item) We paid £75 per couple in total (incl service which we added as not auto included - that’s style. ). Thanks again.

This is a lovely country pub with great service and even better food. We enjoyed one of the best Roast Beef Sunday lunches we have ever had which also included a perfect Cauliflower Cheese. Every part of the dinner was perfect! Good wine selection, great local coffee and well kept independent Cumbrian real ales. The service was friendly and our table had lovely views!
