Great food and service!

The menu doesn't have a wide choice, but both the starter (mallard breast) and the main (monkfish tails) were excellent. I would have had a beer with it, but the drinks menu is slanted towards lager. Maybe that's what their customers prefer. The staff were very friendly.

Excellent night. The food was amazing and the risotto was certainly very special. The staff were excellent.

Two of us went the other night. Booked a table I’m pleased to say as they were full . Good welcome. Good service from Heather and very good food . Wine was good as well . Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and we will return . Must be the best in Penrith Thanks

Lovely food and good atmosphere. We were in on a Wednesday night for Pizza night. The new menu was unexpected as the link from Sugarvine sent us to an old menu but we weren’t disappointed. Staff were superb and the beer was great too! Booked again for Saturday brunch as the brunch menu also looked amazing and we were very glad we did. We found this on Facebook which seems to be more up to date as stated in the previous review. The Crown in Hash was so good and the sharing breakfast was a challenge for my other half who’s eyes were greedier than his stomach. Thanks to maisy and the waiting on staff for great service.

Absolutely fantastic food, atmosphere and service. A really great place to relax with friends or work colleagues.

Thursday night in Penrith and this was a lovely meal for 2. One menu item not available but excellent substitute. Good value and great service, I'd definitely go again if in the area

Me and my husband visited after looking for places to eat online. The menu gave me lots of options as a gluten free person. We had beautiful food, the waiting staff were so helpful and nothing was too much. We really enjoyed every minute and would recommend to anybody.

Amazing food but we got sat way too close to other people, specially considering that there were other tables free. The decor of the restaurant and atmosphere doesn’t match how good the food is. If those too things had been better it’s worth the money ! Service was good too.

10 out of 10 yet again. Not the first time we’ve eaten at Grant’s as we are local so it’s on our doorstep we’ve always had a lovely meal & staff lovely too especially Heather. We will be back !!

I had the Monkfish, this was served with rosti potatoes in a sauce and vegetables. Unfortunately the sauce made the rosti potatoes soggy and unpalatable. The meal was served in a bowl which and with the sauce made everything soggy. The dish would have been better served on a plate with the sauce in a pot! My wife had the Duck breast, the duck breast skin should have been nice and crispy, it wasn’t! The chocolate fondant was dry and not ‘gooey’ as I was expecting. Overall we were very dissatisfied with the meal! Regards Alan Taylor

We had a really lovely meal on Saturday evening. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary so it had to be special. We weren’t disappointed, the food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the staff very attentive. We shall certainly be making a return visit.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH SUGARVINE!!! Food was amazing and staff attentive. Beer was great but when we turned up the pub was full. We had sent a request via Sugarvine without a response but decided to show up anyway. The lady on the bar had to apologies as the business doesn’t even use Sugarvine. She offered us a drink and we waited for a table to become available. They have tried to have it removed but have been told that it cannot be taken down from SUGARVINE !!!! Which is ridiculous. This is a lovely local pub run by a local couple. It’s busy and they take phone bookings. So would advise calling direct. Like I say food was great and will definitely be back just a shame they are having issues with this site. I won’t be using SUgarvine again as it seems that they are uncooperative! Also we went on a Thursday as hours on here say that it’s only open Thursday to Sunday but when we arrived the pub is actually open Tuesday to Sunday. So don’t hold off booking. :) Thanks Chris and Chloe for a great time.
