As usual the food was excellent, and the service friendly and professional.

Waiter very attentive Food mediocre Old fashioned looked a bit tired - menu looked dated - someone said felt like eating in a nursing home . Need to update things have moved on.

We ate here for valentines night and we had the tasting menu. The staff were really attentive and gave us time between courses when needed. The atmosphere was lgood and the table was decorated really nicely. All the courses were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious and the wine pairing worked well. The courses were really well thought out and if I could have picked a menu with all my favourite foods it would have been this . A wonderful evening, will definitely return.

We had a really fantastic lunch on Wednesday 4th February 2026. The staff were very accommodating as I am in a wheelchair and moved us due to a noisy party. The food for the main & deserts were well cooked & tasty! We would return again .

We visited the Half Moon for a family meet up for my 80th. The location is good with plenty of parking. The staff were polite and helpful. The menu is a good variety and well presented. We will visit again.

Always enjoy having a meal at the Half Moon, friendly relaxed atmosphere.

A pub/restaurant with a great friendly atmosphere. The food is always top quality and even at busy times, served in good time. One slight negative... as a vegetarian, I miss the veggie burgers that they used to do a few years ago. They were among the best I've ever tasted.

We felt like we were un welcome! Booked a table a few days in advance and asked for the restaurant and not bar. We arrived and the waitress couldn’t find our booking and then found it and sat us on a small table in the bar ( we struggled to fit all our plates on the table) the table was so close to the door that my son got cold everytime someone opened it! Our order was taken and 15 mins passed and the chef came over to apologise, he has only just seen our order and is starting it now, a little frustrating but full respect to him for coming over. The food was amazing! Can’t fault any of our dishes, the wait was excessive being 2hrs for mains and desserts but I don’t mind waiting for good food so we didn’t mind too much. Asked for a cappuccino and it had no foam and tasted of just milk so I left that and ordered a peppermint tea. We asked for the bill which came promptly, the waitress asked if we needed the card machine which we replied no we will be paying cash, we left that on the table including a tip and said goodbye to the waitresses, we then got chased into the car park to ask if we had paid! Really!! You have just ran past our table where you can see the cash if you had looked to ask if we had paid, very insulting. What was meant to be a celebration lunch for my son in laws birthday left us feeling underwhelmed, it it wasn’t for the fact the food was good, we wouldn’t return. Some staff training is needed

Very friendly staff and good enjoyable food. Was noisy in restaurant but shows popularity for get togethers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunchtime catch up with friends. The food was excellent as always. Lovevthe specials menu with some unusual choices. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Second visit in past year, first visit this year was two weeks ago. First visit was fine, yesterdays visit was disappointing. As so often happens these days, there’s little consistency. Yesterday’s visit was certainly not good. Chicken Satay had some of the chicken insufficiently cooked, the fillet steak, at £30, was supposed to be medium to well done but was most definitely rare in areas. Returned the chicken for replacement and complained about the steak. Presumably the chef has changed in the past year - the food used to be well cooked every time - but no more. Bar staff were cheerful and helpful so the problem is obviously in the kitchen. And take no notice with regard to the dessert menu on their web site or notice board outside the pub - they NO LONGER offer their popular Lemon Meringue Pie as they did over a year ago. VERY disappointing, we shall not return.

We had a wonderful time, staff were professional and attentive. Lovely clean surroundings. The food was excellent and they also cater for Gluten Free with a great selection which was brilliant for me. Will definitely revisit and would highly recommend.

Disappointing given the good reviews. Staff were friendly and restaurant was clean. Food however was average at best. Roast potatoes were difficult to cut, cauliflower was undercooked and broccoli was soggy. Very stingy with the custard although the crumble was tasty. Drinks order was very slow. Restaurant was oddly decorated with a mismatch of furniture. Smokers constantly opening and closing the sliding door by our table letting in a cold draught. Won’t be frequenting again.

Excellent lunch on a dreary rainy day. Lovely friendly welcome, efficient service and great food. I had the Ham Hock Autumn special which came with creamy mustard mash and a nice dish of perfectly cooked vegetables. Mum had the Steak & Ale Pie. Both dishes nicely presented and delicious. Thanks to the team!!!

Warm welcome on arrival. Show to a spotless table without delay. Staff were very professional and engaging with nothing being a problem. Fantastic Sunday lunch in brilliant surroundings. Will certainly revisit.

Drink irder taken quickly & arrived at table within minutes but s ervice was slow once you placed order for food, meal was ok but only luke warm, only roast potatoes where hot.
