Our meals were absolutely delicious. All the details that were on the plate were excellent. The chef must be very talented.

Visited on a Sunday for the roast dinner, excellent service, the food was beautifully presented, both starter and main courses were delicious, the beef was perfectly cooked. Would visit again. Highly recommended!

We have a static caravan in Harlech and often come to Tremadog for Sunday lunch. We always enjoy it. Lovely food. Meat ,vegetables and Yorkshire puddings very tasty and well cooked. We usually don’t have a starter as need room for a gorgeous dessert, which are always worth the calories, Staff good also.

Absolutely superb restaurant, really special. The best food we ate in our whole visit to Wales by far, and some of the best lamb we've ever eaten in our lives, to be honest! Such a wonderful gem of a place. Service was friendly, fast and attentive, all the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm.

As usual, an excellent meal, tasty, plentiful and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and attentive. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Great food and wine with superb service.

We ate at Y Sgwar and the two meals were absolutely beautiful. I had the hake and my husband had chicken. The meals were beautifully presented and the best food that we have had in a long time. Service was excellent and will be returning. Thank you for a great evening.

Wow, what a find Y Sgwar is. We’ve been lucky enough to dine at some incredible restaurants around the world, and this one is right up there with the very best. Tucked away in a charming Welsh village, everything about the experience was exceptional — from the warm, attentive staff to the relaxed yet stylish ambience. The food, though, is the real star of the show: beautifully presented and absolutely superb in taste. It was also my wife’s birthday, and the team made it extra special — wishing her a happy birthday on arrival and surprising us with a delicious sharing plate of chocolate brownie and fruit. A special mention for the specials menu too — the mussels and rack of lamb were both outstanding. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Easy to book online with plenty of options. Many choices on the menu. Good atmosphere and great service from friendly staff. Would certainly recommend this testaurant.

We visited this restaurant for the early bird menu yesterday evening. We were very impressed with the look of the restaurant and the staff were very attentive. The food looked too good to eat! Beautifully presented and both meals delicious. We both had Onion Soup, I then had Chicken Caesar Salad and my husband had Roast Lamb ( he assures me that the meat was very tender and tasty)

Excellent venue, visited on numerous occasions and never once been disappointed. Food served is excellent and complimented by excellent service. Highly recommended. Geoff Jardine

We had a very pleasant evening at the restaurant. The menu offered us a good range of food, the service was both efficient and polite, the setting was excellent, and the price was very much as expected for this standard of meal. We look forward to visiting again

Great service and fabulous food as always

We visited your restaurant having never been before. Although we were not suitably dressed (hiking clothes and walking boots) we were greeted by your Bar Manager/. During our meal the owner also checked in on us and this was very natural and not superficial. The menu options were very good, I viewed the menu on line prior to booking however I wasn't sure how up to date it was because it said 'festive' in the description. Well we were not disappointed we had the butternut squash Wellington x2 it was presented very well and tasted as spectacular as it looked. Also we ordered the herb encrusted lamb rump... (it was a case of now you see it, now you don't '. It was devoured!. The drinks options were very good lots of lovely options. We didn't have any deserts because your restaurant was becoming busier and having run a restaurant previously we gave up our table. The desert menu was discussed back at our mountain hut, we talked about what we would have have chosen and drooled at the missed opportunity. If you're a vegetarian chose Y Sgwar. The only downside.... I wish that it were on my doorstep. We dined early so be aware that it may be noisy because families dine at that time. Remember we were all children at one time... Thank you for not being 'sniffy' because we didn't wear our finest. We will certainly choose you again when we are next in the area.
