Ordered here about a week ago. Great menu, gorgeous food albeit cold and had to be warmed in the oven, the main trouble was that near the end of our takeaway, one of our guests found a FOOT LONG BLACK WIREY HAIR in the rice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trust me,it wasn't one of ours,it was mixed in the rice!!! Surely, chefs need to wear a hair net whilst preparing food for the public. Sorry but although the food was nice we will not be using suda thai again. John

Very disappointing. Food was ok, but nothing special. Ordered the Red Duck Thai, and got Sweet and Sour Duck. Phoned to complain, and whilst not receiving an apology they did offer a complimentary main next time. They also told me the wrong time, so my mate was stood around for 20 mins. All of this could have been avoided if they employed someone to answer the phone who could speak and understand English. Will go to Thai by night next time!

Truly superb Thai food. Having spent 14 years living in Thailand, I can say that Suda's is the best Thai in the north of England. I have dined at all the local Thai restaurants and nothing compares to the food served here. It is advisable to call in advance at the weekends as they are really busy. Highly recommended.

Ian Vs. China Red

We went end of last year to mark a friend who was going to Spain to live. have to report that the experience at China Red was much like being in a school diner ..so much noise and very poor service apart from being asked all the time... WOULD YOU LIKE MORE DRINKS?? Guess by the prices charged for these you are really paying for all you get. WOULD NOT GO AGAIN.. NO WAY THIS RESTAURANT IS TOTALLY OVER RATED

Went for Tapas here on Friday night. I can't tell you enough how fabulous the food was - very authentic home cooked tapas. Inside its like you're sat in a small back street Spanish restaurant - very rustic, truly wonderful.

The Cube Bar in Poulton is one of the best, if not THE best place to go to in the Poulton area. For a relaxed lunch, a mad night out or even your babies christening, Cube always delivers!!! ...the fact that it is always mad busy proves my point!

A table for me and my two friends was booked on Wednesday for the forthcoming Friday night at 7.30pm. It was done by phone and i expected all to be in order. When we arrived we were told that no booking had been made and that they were busy but that they could fit us in shortly. After waiting 30 minutes and by this time we were getting annoyed they then turned round to us and said that sorry they were now too busy and we could not fit us in at all! What a shambles, having looked forward to our meal and having booked, they treated us very poorly, kept us waiting and then could not care less that we then had to walk round poulton at 8pm trying to find a restaurant that could fit us in. Very bad service and i would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Salt of the Earth catered for my daughter's 18th, they were wonderful, everything they could possibly do they did. The food surpassed everything I had wished for, all the comments were wonderful from the guests. If you want some quality fresh homemade food, made that day please contact them. They are well worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot thank them enough.

We visited Saffron this Saturday night as part of a group of 9. We had been previously in a group and thought the meal ok, so had booked again. We had booked in advance, and arrived in plenty of time. 6 of the 9 opted for the 6 people banquet, while the remaining 3 of us chose our own meals; starters and mains. Our food order was taken, however when we went on to order wine, the waiter disappeared mid-order. A different waiter came to our table around 10 minutes later for drinks. We received our starters with no problems, however when the main came the waiter just began to put dishes out without us having any idea of what they were. We explained that one end of the table was having the set menu banquet- and said that the dishes for the banquet would be fine anywhere at that end. He continued to put the dishes where he had started, and when we explained again that some of us had ordered specific dishes, the waiter argued that we had said to just put the dishes anywhere. I was shocked at his tone and how rude he was. The service deteriorated from here and when we left, we left no tip. I will not be visiting Saffron again; as part of a group or with my partner; nor will I be recommending it to anyone. The service really let down an average meal and we left, feeling very disappointed.

20th. December 2009 This was our second visit within 2 months, and once again - faultless! The menu is varied, prepared and served beautifully, and very generous portions. All the staff here appear to be trained to a very high standard, they are, without exception, extremely courteous, attentive (without being imposing) and efficient. Today we had the set Sunday lunch, fantastic value at £14.95. Chef's home made Pate' - one of the best I've ever tasted. Roast duckling, crispy skin, tender flesh and far too much for me to finish the plate. My wife had salmon in a very flavoursome watercress sauce, and vegetables for two perfectly cooked, and again, very generous portions. Almost managed to polish off a sherry trifle, and my wife had a game attempt at the Christmas pud, but had to leave a polite spoonful eventually! Determinedly, we rounded off a lovely afternoon with coffees in the comfortable lounge, (I could have easily had a nap after all that digestive exercising), and we both went home replete and very satisfied.

Having read the comments for this restaurant I decided to give it a go. Maybe it is me and that I expect more for my money, but there was nothing about the food that excited me. The starters were overpriced and comparable to pub food and the mains courses again, were overpriced and somewhat tasteless. We had a mixture, pizza, pasta and a chicken dish. The pizza dough was salty and bland, I had tasted better from Dominos. The toppings were too oily and contained too much cheese. The passata/tomatoe sauce again was tasteless. The pasta was bland, overpriced and the portions too small. The chicken dish was cooked well, but not worth the amount charged. I really didn't know what I was paying for with this dish. When I eat out, I usually expect i) something comparable for what i am paying and ii) something better than what I can make at home. This restaurant did not do either.

I had a take-away Muslim chicken curry from there and it was delicious. Tasty creamy sauce, lots of soft chicken and melt in the mouth potatoes. Ring your order through before collecting though as it takes up to an hour at peak times. Definitely worth the wait and the delay proves it's cooked fresh especially for you. Restaurant standard food to take home :)
