Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

my wife and i went to the italian orchard for the first time last night and it will definitely not be the last. the service was second to none and the ambience and feel for the restaurant was relaxing and pleasant, but it was the food that made the night so special from the starters to the desserts it could not have been any finely cooked and presented anywhere we have been in the past and the most surprising part of the night was the bill for what we ate and the service we got we expected the bill to be so much higher we will definitely be recommending it to our friends

Really liked the vibe of this place. We popped in after mountain biking nearby. We were a bit concerned because we were covered in mud but they were very accommodating. We sat outside in the pleasant beer garden and had 2 Chili Con Carnes. Lovely food well presented. We will definitely return at night mudless and possibly stay over in one of their rooms too.

We found this restaurant via Sugarvine and gave it try and we were not disappointed. This is the only Indian restaurant that I've found that actually makes a REAL biryani with no curry sauce and what a great meal it is too. Full of flavour, good portions, good surroundings, good service, what more could you wish for. The best Indian restaurant for miles around. The lime and soda with Cumin in is refreshing and delicious. The mango Lassi is equally delicious. No wonder this place is constantly full, even midweek. Indian perfection!

Though it was a bugger to find we really enjoyed our trip to the Plough. After seeing it on Sugarvine we drove there on saturday night. The place has real rustic charm in a very quiet corner of the fylde coast. We had great big plates of pub grub. Fish and chips and a mince and onion pie with chips. Hearty and unpretentious washed down with good beer. We had a nice seat out front as the sun set afterwards. Unbelievably only spent about £25 in total.!

Had a top quality hearty sunday dinner at The Smiths Arms. Simple well made food with good ingredients in big portions. My fish and chips was far better than any chippy and my girlfriends Liver and onions really impressed her.

The great chef has now left and they also have a very sleazy waiter now too. Made our visit very uncomfortable indeed. Specials are now very limited, service is poor and if you want to take your girlfriend, be warned, the short waiter will almost certainly hit on her while you are at the toilet. Give this restaurant a wide berth at the moment.

I have been here a few times and this time I decided to dine here, the restaurant/cafe had a real buzz and all the food looked so delicious that it was difficult to make a decision. There is plenty of choice for everyone…a little on the pricey side but was definitely value for money!

We visited this restaurant on Saturday 20th June. The atmosphere was good, staff were friendly, food was reasonably priced. They had a special deal on 2 courses for £16.95 which was good value. The food was very good! Presented to a very high standard too. Lamb was overcooked but that was the only complaint on a table of 6. There are lots of dining seats upstairs so don't be put off if downstairs looks busy. I will definitely go again.

A party of eight of us attended frankie and bennies only to find the staff were not the best, it is an italian so you would expect the usual being offered black pepper, parmesan but the truth was one of the party asked for balsamic vinegar and was passed your ordinary malt vinegar i asked for Parmesan and was looked at like i was from another planet, another member of the party asked for a doggy bag to take home and had to transfer the food herself into the box. I had requested a slice of cake with all the works for my friends b-day but because we had mentioned that a pizza was burnt we ended up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a candle shoved in the top. Not the best place i have dined in a long time.

Hi my wife and I came for a meal on Tuesday the 16th June to celebrate out wedding anniversary, I wanted to say thank you for a fantastic meal and great service, we really enjoyed ourselves, the food was brilliant so give my regards to the chef, and the staff were very efficient and helpful, we will definitely be back.

I went to the Dolphin for lunch with a pal and her 5 year old daughter last month for lunch. I arrived about half an hour after the restaurant claimed it opened and was completely ignored by the staff. There was another couple who had arrived shortly before us for a table and were treated exactly the same. Disgusted, I left for San Marco instead where I had a fantastic meal. I'll never go again.

My wife and I consider this to be the very best Fine Dining in Lancashire. We have visited on several occasions and are always made extremely welcome by the attentive, but not intrusive, staff. The eating experience is out of this world for excellence and a calm and tranquil ambience if all around. Highly recommended to anyone liking gourmet food served in an unrushed atmosphere.

After being completely ignored by the staff at the Dolphin Inn, Longton, I drove to San Marco and thank god I did. The food was fantastic, the staff extremely friendly and the service wonderful. Me and my pal brought along her 5 year old daughter and the staff were great with her. Definitely going back!

Has to be THE best Indian takeaway ever - have tried others but always come back to these guys - and have done for 5 years now - every curry tastes and looks different but always delicious - none of this one sauce fits all for them! Try them and you will not be looking elsewhere....

Beware of fake reviews. We went to the restaurant after reading the review. First issue, the restaurant was design with too much white, it's steal, cold and doesn't give out the sense of luxury as it tried to make people to believe. The place was quiet, the food potion was small and tasted average. The location is heart of 'Student' Village, hence you just don't feel safe to leave your car nearby at night. This feels to be a very amateur attempt, no doubt we may see this restaurant feature soon in Kitchen Nightmare
