Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

We visited this restaurant on 26 may 2009 , it was wonderful , well presented and reasonable. they catered for all your needs , i fancied scallops but it wasn't on the menu , but the chef had some fresh ones and put me a starter together with saffron and mash,it was lovely, the fillet was 28 days hung so it was lovely and pink but no blood. We do lots of reviews for various people and visit many restaurants and this is without doubt up there with the best ,especially in Preston (maybe the best). We both had an enjoyable evening and will be visiting again.

I have travelled to Angels twice for special occasions with friends and both times the food and service has been absolutely amazing. We have been made to feel extremely welcome, the people there made us feel pampered whilst giving us the time to enjoy our meal. Thank you Angels!

My wife & I dined at Angels recently. We were warmly welcomed by staff and were made to feel special from the moment we entered. The ambience was warm, serene and pleasing. The decor was modern with it's own unique twist on style. Throughout we were treated as special guests which is highly complimentary of the professionalism of the staff and we did not feel rushed at any stage. The food was faultless. Portion sizes and the blend of flavours - perfect! A thoroughly enjoyable evening of being spoilt in style!

Best restaurant in the North West! Superb, innovative chef serving quality gourmet food. Owners are 'front of house' guiding friendly, helpful staff to create a fine dining experience which is second to none. Recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the best food, wines and ambience in and around Preston/Blackburn area.

we have visited pond now numerous times and i am always blown away with the attention to detail, the friendly efficient staff and the most wonderful food you will ever eat, i had a table booked with friends last Saturday and was excited to see Andrea in the kitchen running rings around her boys, her food was amazing my friends were visiting from London and they can't imagine eating anywhere this good , we need one in Camden they cried! the mussels in Thai coconut and the fillet Stilton were exceptional as was the dragon banana we all polished off with a deliciously fruity rioja our bill was also very reasonable working out about £28.00 each ( we did drink abit) so we have all booked again and have decided to try it on a Sunday for a lazy chill out afternoon that they are doing from may, we cannot wait. If you are in or thinking of visiting Preston you must try it but please book don't be disappointed as they are always busy.

Fantastic intimate Mediterranean restaurant, well cooked food and plenty of it. Staff are very helpful and attentive but not overbearing. Will definitely return.

Disappointed Coeliac

Coeliacs beware! When I phoned Tiggis restaurant prior to booking I was told that catering for my gluten free diet would not be any problem and that I would have a wide selection of meals to choose from. However, on the night when it came time to order I was told that I could not be catered for. At this time I was sat amongst a group of friends embarrassed that I would not be able to eat a meal while they all ordered. I clearly very unhappy about that answer and said I had called prior to making the booking and was told that my diet would be catered for. They came back to me saying that I could have a piece of grilled chicken and salad. As this was better than no meal at all I agreed. The meal was literally what they said I piece of chicken grilled, not even seasoned with a large layer of fat on it and the salad consisted of lettuce and half a tomato. When desserts menus were brought around I was completely ignored, not even looked at. Although I would not have ordered a dessert as I realised the chances of me being able to have one after the appalling offering of a main meal was slim, it would have been nice to at least be offered or even just treated as a human being. All my non-coeliac friends enjoyed their meals, but if u have an intolerance be wary your choices are limited.

I`d have to agree with Mrs K - Oct 08 - The place does not live up to its press, unfortunately. Toilets dreadful - only half the place open and service that lacked any flair. The food was passable though we`ve enjoyed better. I`m afraid we wouldn`t rush back

I visited the Dolphin Lounge Restaurant with a group of friends this week and was firstly amazed at the recent transformation of the premises which is truly stunning! The atmosphere was electric and the food was to die for. We had a great time and will most definitely become regulars. Love it!

Visited this restaurant on Friday evening (3/4/2009) with husband, parents and children. Couldn't fault a thing. The food, surroundings and service were excellent. Will definitely be a regular from now on.

The restaurant is very smart, really cool decor and the food was tasty. However it seemed the restaurant had over booked and we felt pressured by quite rude waiters who wanted us to eat, drink and leave as soon as possible. An otherwise nice meal was spoilt by overbearing waiters, the food was lovely and there was a massive variety but I wouldn't go on a Saturday night again if I was ever to go. Drinks are quite expensive, the food was reasonable and it's nice to see a good variety of desserts which most Indian restaurants usually lack.

I visited Porcinis on Monday for my birthday and had a fantastic evening. The food was fantastic, I had steak which was a melt in the mouth delight. The house wine is good value for money but does not compromise on taste. I would highly recommend the restaurant with it's tasteful decor and lovely dining atmosphere.

My favourite restaurant in the Preston area by far. If you like Italian food then nowhere else in the area comes close in comparison to the Italian Orchard. I used to live very nearby and visited almost every week. I still go regularly despite now living 30mins away. Probably eaten there several hundred times over the past 10 years!! Food and service are always excellent. Good choice of food on menu with a specials menu which is varied regularly. Decent selection of wine also. Staff are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant. Busy at weekends - you'll probably need to book in advance - but quieter midweek - just turn up and you'll normally get a table straight away. Best of all is that the prices are very reasonable indeed - especially given the quality of the food. 10 out of 10.

Hi my name is Jean. I work in Preston and visit Totto's about once a month. The food is always excellent, very good value for money and the service is always friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is on the small side but very cosy. Because it's off the main thoroughfare it doesn't get too busy and that's how I like it for a relaxing lunchtime pizza enjoyed with a glass of wine. They do great coffee too. I tell all my friends to visit as the food is so good and they also tell all their friends.

We visited on 5th March and were very impressed by the up-market decor and courteous staff. It was pretty quiet at around 6pm but had filled up considerably by the time we left. We were offered poppadoms as we were handed the menus. They were very good and had a selection of 7/8 pickles. However, we didn't realise the price of these until we got the bill - 55p each plus £2.95 for the pickles, more expensive than we are used to, but then again more pickle choices. Hubby went for the Balti chicken tikka garlic with boiled rice and I had the fabulous Taaqur-Ki-Thali, chicken, lamb, prawn and keema curries with pilau rice and a small salad. Very tasty and highly recommended. With 2 bottles of peroni and one very expensive lime & soda (£2.20) the bill came to £35 (ish). Neither of us could finish our meals, and the waiter happily packed the remaining dishes for us to take home. We will definitely visit again soon, even though it is more expensive than the surrounding town curry houses which we have frequented over the years, and probably on a par with our favourite, Shona Spice on Cuerdale lane.

Visited Moka for the first time with 3 friends. Best restaurant in Preston. The food is out of this world, the staff very attentive, and the music & decoration created a lovely ambient atmosphere. I enjoyed Thai fishcakes for starter, Goan lamb for main course (slow cooked lamb shank with spices) - absolutely divine, & toffee and pecan cheesecake for dessert. Will definitely be returning.

I believe the Italian Orchard is the best Italian restaurant by far, anywhere in the North. There is a lunch menu for only £8.70 for two courses and you have a choice of more than a dozen starters and a dozen main courses. I hate Italian restaurants that offer only pasta and pizza, this has very good quality and very good service - if you go there you would recommend it too!!!!
