Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

Known locally as 'The Corper', this eighteenth-century stone inn was once home to workers constructing the nearby reservoir for the Preston Waterworks Company. These days, it thrives as a pub/restaurant in the capable hands of two families. The comfortable interior remains atmospherically traditional, and there's a spacious beer garden with views of the Ribble Valley and the reservoir. The menu has its share of wholesome North Country standards including Bury black pudding with onion marmalade and poached egg, Lancashire hotpot and warm toffee apple crumble tart, but it also spreads its wings for Thai fishcakes, meatballs in tomato sauce with tortillas, and three-bean goulash. Also check out the list of more ambitious specials, which might include roast monkfish on buttered spinach with roasted red pepper sauce. The owners also run the Corper Deli on Longridge Market Place.

My family and I are semi regular diners at San Marco and it is our restaurant of choice. We have only had one average meal there (everyone has an off night) the rest being rated as superb. Dining ambience, service, food and wines are just simply the best. We have to travel past two Italians to get there, but why would you go anywhere else. *****

i never had a worse meal than the one i had at the hospital inn, the soup was water with slabs of veg in it, then when we sent it back no other option was offered, then 50 minutes later my rare steak came, well done, in the end we left £65 pound down and still hungry.

at last a pub who does real pub food, back up with hand cut chips a real gravy, on my first vist i had black pudding and chirzo salad follow by sirlion steak with pepper corn sauce and beast size onion rings. to finish i had home made sticky toffee pudding with a dreamy toffee sauce the best ive ever tasted. The choice of the menu was mind blowing with a good special board, my next vist i will be trying the creme brulee.

I went with my wife and kids, they were impressed with the food very much.We don't have as good as the Indian food that we had at Naaz as we do in Canada. We will be back soon. Pete.

What an amazing find this place is, I will never think a run of the mill curry is the same again, wonderful food served in unbelievable polite and courteous style. The lime and soda was a revelation no Roses cordial here and the meals where works of art. WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

We visited Totto's last night with my son who lives in Preston. This is the second time we have visited and I must say the food and service is excellent. It is small cosy restaurant which serves Mediterranean food. We booked a table quite late in the day however they were very apologetic for putting us on a small table but we were just glad that we got in. The staff really do make you feel comfortable. My partner loved the spicy sausage starter and the blue cheese sauce served with his steak. I have had pasta twice and I must say that on both occasions it has been excellent. We live in North Wales but we will be back and no doubt my son will get more visits than normal just so that we have an excuse to eat at Tottos.

Good food, nice and cosy ambience, friendly staff and not expensive. Try the coffee there! Also has a pleasant garden for the nicotine addicts or for the shinny summer days.

I recently visited this restaurant after many recommendations from friends and family. Although the food was pleasant I was not impressed by the service. Our party of 5 were sat in the corner next to the door, which was constantly being opened by people picking up their takeaway or by the diners. Our waiter promptly came over once we were seated to take our order. The starters came within 10 minutes and I must admit the food was very good. After we had finished our starters, the table was cleared and are main courses were given to us. In both instances the waiters were quite quick, however once our main courses were served, their promptness came to an end. We had wanted to order some more naan and some rice but couldn't attract the attention of the waiter to do so. They never came over to see if our meal was alright, nor did they ask if we needed anything else. In the end we gave up and eventually managed to get someone to give us our bill. I would recommend this restaurant for the food but the service really let them down. If you're visiting this restaurant, I'd make sure you go with plenty of time on your hands!

Had a fabulous lunch at Pond and had a Tapas duo menu great value at 2 dishes for £7, and then came again 2 days later with friends in the evening, both were fabulous, the variety on the menu is outstanding as one of us is vegan and one allergic to oranges! and i can't eat wheat, so to say we have problems eating together is an understatement, but i have to say that we shall go no further than Pond everything is fresh and they have looked after us with ease and an attentive yet approachable service which is second to none. The Pan seared lamb is delightful and the scallops in causa a dream, please put pond on your visit list its well worth it. We've booked our christmas do and are going again tomorrow.

Almost everytime I visit Preston I go to Tottos because they treat you as one of the family and food is always second to none! The cuisine is a mix of eastern European and Turkish and, as stated before, is always fantastic. But the best part is the ambience. The family open their arms and welcome you wholeheartedly and that makes for a wonderful evening. If you do find yourselves on Fleet St (right in the heart of town) pop in and try the Kleftiko. Delicious!!

There are perhaps a half-dozen truly outstanding restaurants in Preston (Duk/Pond, Sakura, and at times, Moka, So, Cafe Bar, and the Chop House), but there is one which separates itself from the crowd in terms of ambience, friendliness, and a general determination to make you feel truly welcome and appreciated.... and that is Totto's. I have sampled all that Preston has to offer over the past 3 years, eating out 1-2 times per week, but Totto's remains my first choice. Niko and has team always offer an outstanding atmosphere, always make us feel appreciated, and always provide warm, inviting, and tasty food, each and every time. The value is second-to-none in Preston. I have taken any number of visiting dignitaries from around the world to Totto's, and Niko and crew have never failed to leave a wonderful impression. Get there and support the best of Preston!

Four of us dined here on Saturday night. We had Poppadoms with chutneys to start, 2 x mixed kebabs, chicken tikka & Chicken pakora as starters, which were beautiful and very tasty. Us girls had chicken korma & tikka massala and the guys opted for the 'Aji Baji' chicken tikka special which was lovely & plentiful. For this, including rice each, 2 large naan breads to share (9inch each so too much for 1) & 2 rounds of drinks came to a £98.00. The service was very good and the waiter asked if we would like a 10 minute break before our main course was served which was much appreciated. I think the biggest let down was definitely the decor and toilets. The website is very impressive, but upon entering, not at all what we were expecting. The lovely conservatory was not open, (looked like it was used for parties only) the purple doors were a bit garish and the 'bamboo' theme a bit tacky. I remember the toilets from my visits to it's predecessor - the rose and crown pub and that was nearly 15 years ago. At the prices they are charging, it would be nice for them to at least give the main dining area and toilets an overhaul to make the dining experience even better.

My friends and I visited Totto's on a works leaving do on the 17th October 2008. It was our first time there and we certainly weren't disappointed! The staff were very hospitable and interacted very well with all their customers equally, so much so in fact that they made the experience unforgettable. Also the food and presentation was great. I will definitely be returning and will recommend Totto's to all my friends.

My family and I visited Totto's on the 18th Oct. we had a wonderful meal, the staff were very friendly and made a fuss of us. nico one of the owner's was very funny and my daughter loved it, as sometimes you go in some places and the children get very bored, but Tottos made the children very special and the kids loved it. So I would recommend this restaurant highly for quality, cost of food very good, and personality of the staff and owner's. WELL DONE we will definitely be going back in the near future.

We found the food to be very average with strange combinations. eg Chilli chicken with roast potatoes, veg and pre packed salad leaves. My mackerel was raw in the middle. My husband ordered lamb shank but got slices. The room had no atmosphere was too brightly lit and no music . We ate at 9 when we were booked in at 8.15. There did not appear to be anyone in overall charge. We have been at lunchtime and were impressed but the transition to an evening venue in our view will only work with a little more attention to detail eg Curtain off the prep areas around the waiting area. Cosy it up and forget the salad leaves with everything!!

Not recommended! I've been three times all for birthday or Christmas do's and it has failed to impress on every occasion. It has THE least inspiring menu in Preston and all of the food is bland and tasteless, apart from the pizzas which are soaked in grease! The price isn't even reasonable. The only thing they scored well on was a large slice of cake for the person celebrating their birthday. There are a hundred better places to go, Totto's can be skipped!
