Absolutely fabulous

Ate here as a party of four for lunch. Very enjoyable visit. All the staff were polite and helpful and the food was delicious. Very clean and tidy and very tastefully decorated.

The refurb is really lovely but the bar waiting area needs a bit of work in welcoming guests. Its definately not the bar it used to be but if you are asking people to wait -at least offer the drinks. Food was okay for 3 of us but 1 plate was lukewarm pie & mash with stone cold veg served on a cold plate. The person who had this dish was poorly the next day unfortunately. Food should be piping hot & served on warm plates. Nobody came to ask if our food was okay - staff seem very young. Hopefully feedback will be taken on board and rectified. We will give it another chance at some point but not for a while i think.

The food was lovely. Unfortunately we ordered an expensive bottle of white wine which at best was luke warm. Whoever runs the cellar/bar needs to rectify this, we asked for ice for the wine, but it was almost undrinkable

Decent, home cooked, quality food. Not much vegetarian choice.

This was our first visit to the restaurant… we had booked a table for 3 at 8:30pm. We turned up 5 minutes early and was told the table will be ready in 5 minutes by the bartender. This was fine except he proceeded to carry on with what he was doing, leaving us just stood there, without any offer of drinks in the meantime. A lady behind the bar then jumped in and said, it will be at least an hour’s wait for food, we have big tables in. She did say apologise but with that we decided to leave with them looking relieved. Considering we booked a table, an hours wait for food is appalling. If you can’t cope with the numbers in the restaurant then stop taking bookings. Luckily it wasn’t a special occasion but this could ruin some peoples special days!

Ate at 8pm on Friday 3rd March. 2nd visit since return. 2 of us. Good menu choice not the bog std borimg menu like elsewhere eg Duckworth Arms. Good food and service Only 1 major complaint. We were told on arrival there would be an hour wait for food due to two large tables in the other room. Surely the staff knew they had 2 large tables in the night before and should surely be set up to deal with that so as not to ruin a night out for other diners. Will go again but any restaurant should be setup to cater for large tables of 15 if they accept bookings of that size. Staff were attentive as much as they could be

Steak cold had to order another one, Because we complained the young lad behind the bar thought it was funny to keep looking at us and sniggering with the tall girl, not one manager or owner of the pub available just these left to run the place , it was such a lovely place to eat before it was refurbished over priced food !!

We had lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I've had the set lunch before, which is fantastic but decided to try some dishes I haven't had before. I am so glad we did. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, the mushroom dish was amazing as well as everything else. The food is such quality and worth every penny. The staff are lovely from the minute you walk in. They are attentive without being overly so and we weren't rushed through. I would highly recommend this place. The surroundings, the staff and the food are perfect.

Terrible bland food, steak was cold and not cooked to my liking, brought it back still the same, 1 onion ring 1 Tomatoes 1 mushrooms oven chips, after my complaints the staff all knew what had happened and the young lad behind the bar thought it was funny to keep looking at us, there was not manager around to complaint, will never come over priced cheap food !!

Visit this place over and over and it honestly never ever fails. Unbelievable food as always (goats cheese special was divine) and atmosphere and service were just perfect. It’s our 100% recommendation to anyone that asks where to visit locally.

Love this place!! Amazing food, service and atmosphere. The specials are fabulous, creative and delicious, this visit we had bruschetta with nduja which was an absolute taste sensation and tuna steak, THE BEST tuna we’ve ever had. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
