What a gorgeous renovation. Very classy decor, very warm and cosy and inviting. Sadly, this doesn’t extend to some of the staff. Greeted by a mature woman who was maybe the manager to be abruptly told our booking wasn’t on the paper planner. I offered to show her the booking confirmation, for her to state ‘I can see your booking on our system, that isn’t what I’m saying, some bright spark has transferred the booking to paper and it’s not on there’… We were then told a booth was free (6 adults). I said the booth wouldn’t work due to the size (at a push you’d get 2 adults and a child seated), she suggested a chair at the end !!. Eventually, somehow miracously, a larger table became available. Drinks arrived fairly quickly, the waitress was lovely and really helpful Altho she brought cutlery over and left all 6 sets at the end of her table ?!?.. the food was nice, tasty, hot and a good variety on the menu. Unfortunately, we could also overhear another situation with the same member of staff and a customer regarding a booking. Such a shame as the staff and service were fab before the renovation. Seems customer service and training needs attention to ensure repeat bookings keep the place busy. We will try again and see…..

Food was fabulous, great atmosphere definitely worth a visit

I have always enjoyed all aspects of the whitchaff,I always say you can eat all around the world and come back to England for sweet ,the food ,atmosphere, service and value for money is excellent

Had Sunday Lunch. Food was fantastic and plenty of it! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Definitely be back soon.

Food was excellent younger staff need some training round table quite small for 4 not much room to sit down with menu clip boards and even worse with cutlery boxes

Both me and my mum are pescatarian and found the menu limited. We requested the vegetarian menu which had 4 main meal options. I don't feel that we'd be back as the choice was too limited. The food was nice though.

We really enjoyed our lunch yesterday. The restaurant was fairly busy, but the service was fast and the food excellent. Already looking forward to another meal here!

Beautiful food, lovely inside. Really need to train staff better, I was served by young girls who really didn’t have the experience to give the customer the best experience. I wasn’t shown to my table, it was just pointed out where it was. I sat there for 10 mins and had to get someone’s attention to get a drink. I asked for bottled water no ice, and got tap water with ice. It was there at a quiet time to no excuse. I will visit again, but this definitely needs to be worked on.

Refurbishment is lovely! Food was great - good pub menu with some more special dishes. Decent portion sizes. Atmosphere was more restaurant than pub now, but maybe that's because we booked at 5:30pm. Table was a little draughty as we were sat in front of the door which took a while to close when people are entering/ exiting

This is a lovely pub with great food, great service and very good views The cheese and onion pie is a must!!

It’s the first time myself and my family have been to the Whitchaff and we all thought it was fab! Lovely friendly atmosphere, great staff and gorgeous food! Love the decor too!! We’ll definitely be going back.

We eat at this restaurant regularly and the food is always delicious . The service and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Definitely the best place to eat in Rawtenstall.

What can I say, apart from brilliant service and gorgeous food once again..Never fails to amaze. Visited a few times and never been disappointed. Lovely food,staff and atmosphere. One of my favourite places to eat !!!
