We have eaten at The Golden Lion several times over the past few years we have always been impressed by the standard of food and staff and always look forward to our next visit

This is the second time I have been to the Hamnavoe restaurant, and like the first time it did not disappoint! Food was excellent, as was the service! Excellent local produce with an Asian twist, will be back again!

Really enjoyed our lunch , my friend and I meet up every so often here and the service is great , always . The food was really great and quite a notable change in presentation and standard , well done !we both enjoyed it tremendously. We will be back in a few months , thank you

Me and my partner went and had an amazing steak dinner here, there was an offer with a bottle of wine which was extremely reasonable! We cleared everything off our plates and the service was great too, thank you!

We had a perfect evening in The Hamnavoe restaurant in Stromness, Orkney. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. Fresh and delicious, we ate every morsel with pleasure. The staff were calm and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Can’t wait to go back.

We were unsure where to go as we are not from the area. Came up recommended on trip advisor and I’m so glad we chose the restaurant. One of the best Ribeyes and Fillets we have ever tasted. Beautiful. Long Island Ice Teas were also superb. Staff friendly, welcoming and attentive… we had the steak and wine for £59 offer and would have happily paid more for what we had. I’d love to visit again

A perfect place to eat! We had three courses and all were perfectly cooked. Service was spot on, polite and friendly, and not overbearing. Wine list was excellent with two choices of red and white to have by the glass. The pedro ximinez went well with the desert! We will come back every time In Orkney.

I’m so glad we booked dinner at Hamnavoe during our visit to Orkney. Our dinner was exceptional and the staff were so attentive. We loved the use of the wonderful local produce throughout the menu. If we had more time during our stay we definitely would’ve returned to Hamnavoe.

Lovely staff, good meal in the restaurant. Room could do with a refresh and minor irritations included no information in room (e.g. menu, wifi code, breakfast times etc.)

Exceptional quality of food, beautifully presented and well balanced. Lovely to have a place like this in Stromness! We will be coming back.

By far the best place to dine out in Orkney! The individual flavours of each component in each dish were absolutely delicious and combined were a masterpiece every time. Can’t wait to go back!

Hubby & I had a three course lunch in this lovely restaurant. Hubby stuck to the traditional soup, steak pie & toffee pudding, hich he loved & I had the chilli prawns with the most delicious dressing I've ever tasted( would love the recipe) then the special of steamed trout with mash done with a creamy leek sauce. Once again I didnt want the meal to end it was WOW! finished off with a sticky toffee. Needless to say, clean plates all round. Chef & staff such a credit to the Golden Lion, we will def make this a more regular meal out. Thankyou xx

Outstanding meal at the Hamnavoe. Each dish is beautifully presented and the attention to detail is amazing. Every flavour worked together and a good selection of drinks. The staff were lovely and did a superb job. Can't wait to come back!
