Came for lunch with friends on a Tuesday. The pub itself is lovely with some nice tables in front which catch the sun. The staff were very friendly and the drinks and ordering food was quick and efficient. We did have a long wait for the food though in,by then, a very quiet pub. The 2 men had the chicken ,ribs combo and both were happy with portion size and taste. The fish and chips were declared delicious and the special homemade lasagne was tasty but singed and the garlic bread dry. Puddings were enormous but I think the ice cream was poor, the flavours were strange and the chocolate powdery. They ought to go for a local farm made one like Moo Thru at Whitchurch which is something special and would be delicious and would be a good selling point. We had a pleasant meal and the price was competitive. We will definitely be back.

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate Fathers Day. Had booked well in advance via online booking portal and phoned to check yet on arrival our reservation had not been put into days diary. A table was found for us however, but not a good start. All staff were polite and attentive, our Roast Beef was delicious, and fish and chips very tasty. We ordered dessert and I chose warm chocolate brownie but when it arrived it was cold, I asked for it to be checked it came back with an apology but wasn’t too much warmer to be honest. Overall a nice meal just a few details spoilt the visit

A lovely Father’s Day lunch. Delicious food and large portions.

We arrived for a Father's Day evening meal on Sunday, 20 June 2021. It was clear that there had been a busy lunch time service as the children were given sausages and stuffing instead of their pigs in blankets starters, my main dish of mussles was served at lukewarm temperature and the entire evening lacked the buzz and ambiance of a special night out. We were placed in the centre of the dining room with three small tables pushed together. The table legs were uneven which made it difficult to enjoy our meals and the wait was extraordinarily long for our first round of drinks and subsequent food order. This was the first visit since the pub re-opened and unfortunately a rather unfortunate one. I'm afraid the price we paid for our meals was not representative of our experience. It's doubful we'll be back.

We had Father's Day lunch at the Tilly Raven yesterday. Beautiful meal, so well prepared and cooked, a real credit to the chefs and kitchen staff. Would highly recommend. Front of house staff extremely friendly and helpful too.

We have been to The Tilly Raven at Wem a few times now,the food and service is always excellent and let's not forget the beer . I would really recommend it .We will definitely be going again

Visited on 17/6/21 with friends, had a really lovely evening. Food was great, service was faultless, all in all highly recommended.

Beautifully refurbished now The Water Rat is even better than ever. Had a brilliant lunch here on Sun, great choice of food and wine. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Only 1 complaint please add a cheeseboard to the menu at lunchtime especially in the very hot weather

First time here after lockdown and refurbishment. To be honest wouldn’t rush back . The meal was ok, we had starters (which were nice) two Sunday lunches, again which were nice and two fish and chips. The fish looked very greasy and not very well presented. Staff were very nice and efficient though. Refurbishment looks good but the toilets need an upgrade.

Myself and my husband had been looking forward to a Sunday lunch cooked by someone else since the beginning of lock down and we were not disappointed. Beautiful beef and the roast potatoes I could have eaten a plateful. Very accommodating staff when we were seated inside the restaurant and I asked if we could move outside, we were moved Straight away. Only two things could have improved this brilliant experience, To be offered a wine list Extra vegetables and gravy All in all we’ll be booking to come back

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here yesterday. The staff on duty were friendly and very Efficient. The food was beautiful and the portion sizes were perfect, I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing, I feel so grateful to have this little gem in our town. Special mention to the lady on duty who was so friendly towards my son who wanted to give her the money to pay our bill. I have been here a few times with a friend on a Thursday & this lady goes above & beyond each time. We will be back very soon.

Lovely place to chill, have a fantastic meal & a drink (just the right amount). Had the salmon fish cake which was lovely. Staff were friendly and service brilliant, thank you.
