This is a lovely restaurant where we had a delicious lunch with friendly service . The helpings are very large so we chose with care! Everything freshly cooked and was just what we needed.

Water Rat – IronbridgeFood was lovely, great menu! We sat upstairs though and the service was rubbish. We waited 25 mins for drinks and never got an opportunity to order another round. Sat with empty glasses and finished plates for 25 mins and had to go ask for the bill.
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeStarters very average, not sure I would recommend to friends
The Last Inn – NewportWe had a lovely evening meal here. It was delicious. However, we did not consider returning because the waitress just couldn't be bothered. She didn't hide the fact that she was not interested. She was slow to respond and not a good advertisement for your restaurant. When we had finished our main courses we waited for our waitress to ask if we wanted anything else and we waited ages. she went past a number of times but did not even glance at our table - it was as if she made sure not to make eye contact. In fact she had not looked at us since serving the main courses. After waiting far too long my partner went over to her to ask about desserts and she gave him the menu. We had a look and picked what we wanted, then waited again for her to come to us, which we should have known was pointless. Terry had to attract her attention to come over and she was not very friendly - in fact, did not smile once while serving us. On the menu it said to ask the waiter what flavours of ice cream were on offer so I asked her what flavours there were and she said "The usual," looking at me with the same can't be bothered face. I said "I'm asking because it says on the menu to ask the waiter what flavours there are." The look remained the same sort of uninterested- well actually no, it was a little hostile at this stage! She said "Vanilla, strawberry, chocolate." I would have liked to know if I could have one of each but I felt that I was a nuisance to her so I just asked for vanilla. We stayed a week in Ironbridge and we've been before. We will certainly be staying again in the future but we will not be booking a meal at The Malthouse due to the poor service.
The Malthouse – TelfordCaitlin and her team were amazing from booking it via email until right up until the brunch was over. The drinks were fast flowing and nothing was too much. I will be returning for another brunch and will be recommending to everyone
The Malthouse – TelfordWe visited the Smokey Cow for a Birthday meal on a Tuesday night, awful service, took 25 minutes for anyone to come take a drinks order, then a further 25 for anyone to take our food order. The place only had 3 other groups in. So massive wait times between ordering and being served for every order We ended up having to go back to the bar multiple times just to ask for starters to be taken away, 30 mins after finishing them. Really expensive drinks charging £4.20 for a appletise. We had the Smokey cow Burger, I assume these burgers were the economy burgers from Spar, really rubbery and had a weird texture, I only eat half and left the rest. Really poor service and really expensive, for low quality food. Won’t be going back again and will tell others to avoid and go somewhere better.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood arrived quickly and was hot. Altered meal slightly and this was accommodated easily. Only issue was that rock salt was added to fish and chips when served. The person does not add any salt to meals at all.
The Malthouse – TelfordVery easy to book a table. Very friendly Staff. Great service. Very reasonable priced and excellent food, what more could you ask for. We had a very enjoyable evening at The Bull. We would definitely recommend and will certainly be visiting again.
The Bull – ShrewsburyThe Snug was lovely. Great steak
The Malthouse – TelfordSimple but good food, great to have kale properly prepared and cooked well. Service was efficient and attentive, no running or rushing just caring service. A good evening and to be recommended
The White Hart – IronbridgeThird time we have been and declined each time …. The service was slow and needing to ask for basics like serviettes etc gap between starter and main was 40 minutes but the main was very disappointing … looked like it had been on hot plate for 10 minutes at least very basic with over cooked chips and pink/red chicken in the centre Paid and left but won’t return
Water Rat – IronbridgeMy partner and I came here for tea last night (18/05/24) and we couldn’t fault the place. All the staff were absolutely lovely and the food was amazing! Greeted by staff as soon as we arrived and promptly taken to our table. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles. All food was cooked to perfection and great value for money! Looking forward to our next visit very soon. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordReally good food. Very attentive staff. Only problem was the toilets. Ladies toilet had no toilet paper and the light wasn’t working inside the small cubicle ( made it difficult to see what your were doing!) it didn’t spoil the afternoon there. The staff were very good at trying to sort it all as soon as it was mentioned and it wasn’t overlooked. The restaurant was clean and the food was fresh and very tasty .
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeVisited the White Hart yesterday and had a really nice lunch. The sandwiches that we had were lovely, and so were the skin on fries. Staff were very pleasant, and the whole experience was great. Would definitely eat here again.
The White Hart – IronbridgeMy wife and I ate at The White Hart restaurant last night during our stay Ironbridge. My wife is a vegetarian and I still enjoy meats - we both had a fantastic dinner. The service was excellent and the meal quality was very good. Would highly recommend.
The White Hart – IronbridgeAmazing roast dinner with friendly service. We'll be back!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHad a lovely Sunday lunch at the Queens Head. We were unexpectedly early for our booking (over an hour) and the ladies were very accommodating and seated us even though the place was very busy. The food was lovely, I had the belly pork and my friend had the roast beef and the portions were large! We happily eyed up all the lovely desserts coming from the kitchen but when it came to it we were to full to have one! Lovely atmosphere and super friendly and helpful staff. I'd highly recommend.
The Queens Head – OswestryDisappointing. Waited around 1.5hrs for food even though the rest of the pub was quiet, just a couple of tables. We had to ask when we could expect the food. Menu had just changed and for a vegetarian was limited, meat eaters in the group weren’t impressed with the menu either as a distinct lack of vegetables with the meals. Some side choices were also incorrect when they arrived. The serving staff were friendly. We didn’t have desserts or coffee due to the time it took to get main meals. Doubtful we will return.
