Had fab lunch on BH Monday 3 courses soup and potato skins starters, 2 mains salmon with new potatoes and greens absolutely delicious. Hubbys main was veggie burger and chips. Deserts was lemon sponge and custard and the chocolate fudge cake x Plus drinks. Food and drink is always amazing tasty good portions. Lovely restaurant and amazing staff and service despite the busyness . One of our favourite places to go to xx

We were too full for dessert but looking around other people's looked lovely. This was our first visit but we will certainly be back!

The biggest problem we had all night was trying to pick what to eat as everything looks amazing. When ours arrived the portions are massive and all cooked to perfection. Definitely the best place in South Shields to eat now and the staff are a credit to them. They could double the prices and I would still go back.

Harbour Lights – South ShieldsWe decided to try The Harbour Lights for Sunday Lunch, having visited a few times for lunch that was always delicious. We booked and arrived and were seated very quickly and provided with the lunch menu. We had a choice of beef, pork, chicken , mince and dumplings or liver and onions. 1 course was £11.50 and 2 was £15.50. We opted for 2 courses and had garlic mushrooms served on toasted crostini for starters. The mushrooms were cooked well and lovely garlicky. Then we had the chicken in herb for our mains. The chicken was tender and not dry, served with mash and roast potatoes, yourkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and veg. The only niggle was the cauliflower cheese was warm and not hot and the veg were overcooked and not el dente which I prefer. My husband finished with apple crumble and custard , which he said was delicious. So 2 courses, 1 dessert, 2 pints of Guinness and 2 pints of Morretti came to under £60 and was well worth it.
