Returned for the second time in a week. Booked for the steak night. Steaks were outstanding! My bus and I had T-bone steaks with all the trimmings and a side of onion rings. The steaks were beautifully cooked and not over seasoned ( some places over salt steak). The meat was full of flavour and not tough at all. All accompaniments were excellent. We also had dessert, my husband loved the chocolate cheesecake and I loved the brownie, although I couldn’t finish it. I was ambitious ordering it after the steak. Staff were amazing as always and prices were very reasonable indeed for restaurant quality food. We will be visiting regularly.

Regularly eat at this establishment and have never been disappointed. Staff are very friendly, food is great and service is excellent. Would thoroughly recommend you eat here. Good value for money.

The staff are very attentive and friendly. The main menu is very comprehensive and the vegetarian/vegan menu is also comprehensive. Portions are generous and sensibly priced.

Easy booking process, lovely location, friendly staff, quick service and a good range of choice on the menu. Food portions are generous and presentation is great. Will be back!

Had a fantastic meal at the Harbour Lights with my husband on Bank Holiday Monday. We booked for 6pm ( food is served until 8pm). It was very hot and staff were very attentive which must have been challenging in such heat. To start my hubby had a Korean chicken. I tasted a bit and it was tender and beautifully cooked. The glaze was sticky and caramelised with a sett and sour type flavour. It was delicious and served with salad garninsh, a very generous portion. I did not have a starter as I was having a T-bone steak for my main. Simon had fish and chips. The fish was lovely and soft, easily flaking and moist, not overcooked. The batter was light and crisp and not greasy at all. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. I love steak and have eaten in some top steakhouses, however, this would have been a great offering in a specialist steakhouse! The meat had an excellent flavour and was very tender. It was cooked medium-rare; beautifully rendered and caramelised on the outside and pink and juicy indeed. It easily came off the bone and was very tender, barely needing a steak knife. Unbelievably, it was on offer for £20! Service was excellent and the bill, including six drinks, one starter and two mains came to around £60. Outstanding!

Went with 2 friends, 2 of us had salmon with herby baby potatoes and green beans and 1 had the cod with potatoes and veg. The meals were a good size portion, well cooked, tasty and good value for money. There is a lovely atmosphere in the pub and the staff very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Harbour Lights . Their belly pork is cooked to perfection. The veg is plentiful would highly recommended. The whole meal was excellent value

Food excellent, mince & dumplings just like Mum used to make! Staff very helpful & friendly provided excellent & professional service, the portions & prices were superb, wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Harbour Lights.

We love this place for the delicious and great value food and the wonderful service. We had the lobster starters with Sunday roast main which was excellent as always with plenty for all. Always a delightful experience.

A truly wonderful experience. All staff were warm and welcoming. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the roast dinner and the mashed potato rivalled my late great aunt Doris' legendary mashed potato. My sister in law found the homemade chicken pie delicious. My brother loved the fish and chips. We will be returning. Thank you.

Always good food and reasonable prices too nice quiet place to enjoy food and relax a lot better than rowdy pubs quality of food is all fresh homemade and decent size portions the staff are friendly and service is quick no waiting for ages

Absolutely gorgeous steak night, 2 for £35 including a drink. Comes with the best chips ever and black pudding, tomato and salad, we had a side of amazing onion rings. Definitely recommend

Table for 13 was sorted with ease, all food was piping hot & those portions WOW! Worth every penny so much so we returned the following night. We were on a weekend break from Lancs this will be now our go to on next visit up here. Cheers all staff who looked after us.

Just spent a weekend in South Shields with friends and booked the Harbour Lights for an evening meal for 10 people. The food was absolutely amazing and superb value for money. In fact it was that good we booked the following evening as well. I had the mince beef and dumplings the first evening and the chicken kiev with homemade chips the following evening and would recommend both of these meals. They were tasty and the portion sizes were big. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to eat. We will definitely be back.
