A party of three of us visited the Shephed's Rest for an evening meal and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, polite and helpful. We all chose something different and all were delighted with our choices. I had the gammon and can honestly say that it was the best I've ever had. Very lean, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Iam sure that we will be returning soon.

We had 3 meals. Burger, Lamb Shank, vegan shepards pie. All 3 were exellent. Good quality food at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend "The Shepards" to anybody. Also the Staff are very attentive. And very professional too.

Had a lovely birthday celebration lunch yesterday. The Shepherds pie was delicious, the best I've ever tasted. Staff were very friendly & attentive, gave my dog some yummy treats. The views and setting are beautiful. Would highly recommend this cosy, friendly country pub.

First time visitor, being meaning to try for ages, we weren’t disappointed it was a busy Sunday but staff were very polite, welcoming and helpful, we pre booked a table and were given one with a stunning view near the window, drinks order was taken and delivered quickly, same for the food, we had the giant yorkie sharing board it was very filling and good quality. All in all a really good experience, we will be returning very soon!

We visited three times during our stay in Todmorden. Fabulous food. The meatballs were exceptional, as were the shepherd's pie and the fish pie. The lemon merengue sundae was amazing. Really fresh, high quality, local produce. Portions are generous. Ask for a table in the back with fabulous view over the moors. Bank holiday weekend, so a few things on the menu were not available but there were plenty of alternatives. Would be good if staff warned what is not available when they give out menus. Staff are friendly and warm. Highly recommend. Hope to return one day!

Tried the mighty burger board and it was mega! Loved it. Burgers big and tasty, everything spot on. Friendly staff too.

Pretty average fish and chips, though mushies very good. Too cold Landlord.

First time here what a lovely visit. Friendly staff . Our dog was fussed over and fresh water given ...dog treats. Had Sunday lunch it was delicious and vegetable selection was brilliant. The Yorkshire pud yummy. ... well worth a visit and glad we booked as rather busy.We can see why!

It was a shame as they were running out of quite a few of the menu items as it was bank holiday Monday tea time. But what we had was ok. Staff very friendly and helpful but seemed quite a long wait for the food.

We sat outside in the sunshine with the dog while the children played in the play area. The food was really good and enjoyed by all. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

Outstanding country pub! Couldn’t believe our luck to stumble across after a long walk. The views are amazing and plenty of outdoor seating in the sun. We had a beer and glass of wine (really nice selection of both) and then booked a table as it was busy. Didn’t mind waiting at all and went inside to eat when table was ready. Lovely landlord & landlady, young couple, completely renovated the place and couldn’t fault the staff, the service or the home cooked food! We definitely recommend!

One of my favourite places to eat in Todmorden. Service and food are always first class. Great menu, superb drinks selection (and delicious cocktails!). Absolutely recommend it.
