Great staff great atmosphere and the best Sunday Roast The Victoria Inn is our go to pub when we're in North Wales

Hi , we were a party of 6 celebrating a 70th, we had a fantastic meal , we want to know where you get the chips ? Took a cake with us which staff brought out for us at the appropriate time . Had a fabulous evening , thank you so much xxxx

We had a beautiful starter nicely presented and the flavours were amazing, the main meal was the same and dessert was delicious the atmosphere was great lots of people in the restaurant and the staff were very attentive. We love visiting here when we stay in Porthmadog

Lovely atmosphere. Food was good. Disappointed with limited options for gluten free food when they had to be matched up with the daily menu. A shame all drinks have to be ordered at the bar. This reduced what we had because we didn’t want our food to go cold whilst we queued for drinks.

Excellent meal for two with fantastic Lebanese Red Wine to accompany my belly pork and duck starter . Rounded off with a lovely apple strudel with custard

My partner & I visited Portmeirion from 23-25. During our stay I searched on line for local restaurants to support. To my joy what reviews I had read about your family restaurant were 100% true. I’m in particular a real foodie , & have travelled the world and experienced fine dining so have very high expectations. I personally could not fault a thing . From being greeted to be shown our choice of table, waitress service and atmosphere. We had an early booking so was able to access the early bird menu or à la carte . We chose the steak and Belly pork for myself . We were both not disappointed with our choices at all. The plates were beautifully dressed , good portions and the food was fabulously cooked. We can not rate this restaurant high enough . We could see why it was so popular as virtually all the tables bar one were full on the evening of our visit. This little gem is a credit to Porthmadog.

Lovely busy restaurant. Couldn’t fault the meal although the mains were a little let down by the amazing starters. If I named the staff it would not be fair as all the staff we spoke to were fantastic. They are a credit to the restaurant. Value for money probably a little higher than should be but we still left a tip for the waitress’s. Thank you

The room was clean and had a nice view of the river . We had a lovely meal . The stay was just wot we needed and would go back again very enjoyable .

What an absolutely gorgeous pub. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. And then the food... roast beef dinner. Honestly it was one of the best I've ever had and I'm 72!! Proper slabs of "melt in your mouth" beef and a yorkshire that wasn't like a crispbread! Loads of veg etc....truly a great meal. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely restaurant. The food was amazing, we all had a starter, main and dessert and it was all beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. It was lovely to have Welsh speaking servers, three young girls who were very friendly and very attentive. Service was first class! Would definitely recommend! Diolch

We have dined at Y Sgwar for many years and enjoyed every occasion spent with the pleasant and polite staff and although always busy Lorraine sometimes has time for a brief chat which is always welcome. The food is delicious, we have tried many dishes and enjoyed everyone. We would highly recommend Y Sgwar for an early bird meal, wonderful Sunday lunch or that special occasion meal.

Lovely environment and the food and staff were fantastic

We come here a lot. Lovely environment great spot after walk at waterfalls at Nantcol. Staff work hard here but recently food hasn’t been so good. Limited choice for vegetarians. Food served cold and small portions.
