Really lovely food, beautifully presented and with great service. The restaurant is quite intimate with a nice ambience. Prices are a bit higher than in other restaurants, but if you want food, service and a restaurant that is a cut above, then The Olive Tree will not disappoint.

I had the goats cheese crostini with cherry compote , really good . We both had the fish with white bean cassoulet with spinach , absolutely lovely . Ordered the bread to wipe bowls clean. I had the blueberry creme brulee , the best I have had for years . Lovely restaurant with friendly staff . We will go again. Suggest booking as on an Thursday early evening only one table not filled.

The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsWe had a great dinner here. There were four of us. I had the goat cheese, cherry crostini. It was delicious.. We had papparadelle, hake & seabass. All entrees were absolutely delicious. Great presentation & tasted wonderfully. The rocket salad was the only drawback. Very small & a sprinkle of parm on top. Didn’t have any dressing on it that I could taste. The semi freddo dessert is one of my favorites. It had some coffee sauce & was out of this world.

The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsWe had an excellent meal on Saturday choosing the daily set menu which we thought very good value for money. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We all had 3 course, all were good. We did think that charging £2.50 for 2 small slices of bread to go with the salad was a bit much. The soups came with the same bread but the small salad didn't which was strange. We will definitely come back

The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsStaff and atmosphere was great. Food was enjoyable but some dishes lacked Finesse. I found the scallop dish was average. The dauphinoise was not as indulgent as I would like. The seabass main was tremendous and I loved the truffle fries. My wife said her halloumi starter and pouched chicken was tasty but she agreed about the potatoes needed more salt and cream but I guess that’s individual taste. I would go back to try the other dishes

One of us was vegetarian, it was nice to see more than one option available on the menu! Both of our dishes were amazing , full of flavour and nice presentation. Desserts were superb too. Service was attentive. Couldn't ask for anymore.

My husband and I are both vegetarian, it was so nice that the vegetarian options were carefully thought about, not just adding a vegetable risotto to the menu. Everything well presented and delicious. Staff efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

We have now visited The Olive Tree four or five times in 2025 and have always been impressed with the quality of food. Clearly the Chef and team use high quality ingredients that are well prepared and cooked. Also, a keen eye is used for presentation. Wines are also highly palatable. Service good too. On this visit, we brought some friends for lunch and they too were suitably impressed. Thank you to all the staff at The Olive Tree and we look forward to our next visit. We have no hesitation in recommending The Olive Tree in Wells.
