Lovely evening, thanks. charming staff, solicitous manager, Petra on hols!!

On Friday night four of us enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Olive Tree in Wells. The food we had was so delicious (three had the seared sea bass and one had the hake). All of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The puds/cheeseboard were also very good. All served up by lovely friendly, welcoming staff. We would love to try it again when we are next in Wells.

Absolutely stunning food and lovely atmosphere. So good that we ate there twice in our 1 week visit to Wells. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a delicious meal at the Olive Tree. Really welcoming and friendly staff and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Timing of the courses was perfect, the chef was extremely good and it was a great experience. We will definitely be returning. A new favourite restaurant for us!

A very pleasant evening at The Olive Tree. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious.

Quick service for a Sunday lunch, food was hot , the roast beef was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and very tender - veggies were also very nice. Only criticism is there wasn’t really enough food on the plate , and we had ordered extra cauliflower cheese , having said that I’d still go back but when I was less hungry perhaps.

Our friends had been recommended to eat at The Olive Tree and the four of us had a wonderful meal. The food was interestingly different and very tasty. The staff were extremely kind and helpful without being intrusive.

A lovely space in the centre of Wells, excellent food and delightful staff. We had a pre-dinner drink in the outside courtyard then ate a delicious meal in the main restaurant which was full but didn’t feel at all crowded. We will undoubtedly return when we are next in this part of Somerset.

We had a very enjoyable evening at the Olive Tree . The atmosphere & ambiance were great & the service & attention to detail were excellent The menu was slightly limiting for me as I have a cheese intolerance but the scallops were delicious. Thoroughly recommend for a good dinner & evening out

We dined at The Olive Tree on Saturday evening, 26 July, in the upstairs area. Absolutely delicious food attractively presented by very friendly staff. Very good to see the (very pleasant) owner involving herself directly. Friendly and attentive service from all the staff. A brilliant evening and not expensive for the experience we had. Very happy to recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals o Saturday lunchtime. High quality cuisine, in a friendly warm atmosphere. We will visit again.

I treated my sister and brother-in-law to a meal at the Olive Tree and I must say the food was excellent, particularly the first courses. My chicken breast with squash emulsion was perfection - simply delicious and they both thoroughly enjoyed their seared seabass fillet, prawn and fennel orzo. The puddings were good too, though a little on the sweet side. They both had Eton Mess and I had the creme brulee. My Dutch brother-in-law who is normally very critical of British food had to actually admit that this meal was superb.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here travelling from Taunton to do so. Our evening was amazing, extremely attentive staff, a lovely setting and all our courses were impeccable. We really enjoyed every aspect of our evening, thank you.

very enjoyable and imaginative food, particularly for the vegan, who really enjoyed the amazing dessert. A lovely setting and smart, polite staff, although they (the staff) were a little chaotic and occasionally left plates uncleared and glasses unfilled rather longer than you would expect in a place this expensive and otherwise classy.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Perfect in every respect! Really tasty food and nice ambience.
