The Wyndham Arms – SalisburyWe booked a table for 6, for Sunday lunch, at 1pm. Ordering was quick and drinks arrived promptly. However food did not arrive until 2.15pm which was very annoying and I suspect arrived as I asked where it was! We were offered some free drinks as compensation. The food was nice but the slow arrival of it really spoilt our experience
The Bank – SwindonGreat fun time Exceptional service from friendly staff. Great food. Good Garden location but will be even better when we are allowed back inside.
The Bank – SwindonA bit disorganised and a number of moody staff. 4 pints of beer were sent back as they were completely flat, and we were made to feel at fault for doing this, instead of the staff being apologetic or embarrassed. A couple of cocktails came out looking like glasses of squash, so they got sent back too. When they were brought back they were much better, but still no apology, despite the new cocktails proving the originals were not finished. Once again we were made to feel fussy, rather than looked after. This was all in the first hour of a 2 hour stay. Shame, as we’ve always been a fan of The Old Bank.
The Bank – SwindonHad the Sunday lunch.. bar service was a bit slow to begin with but improved when more staff arrived. Food was nice.
The Bank – SwindonMy boyfriend and I went here for a date on Saturday evening. We went early because we were hoping it would be somewhat quiet. The service was excellent in terms of taking our order. The food was also nice but I do not think it was worth the price. The thing that bothered us was that despite COVID guidelines, it was like being sat in the smoking area of a club. Girls were drunkenly getting up and going over to other tables, shouting across the garden and generally being rowdy. In the bathroom, there was vomit on the floor of the cubicle and multiple girls chatting in there like it was a club night. We honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. The staff were lovely but they didn't seem to be bothered that COVID guidelines weren't being followed. I will not be going back for dinner but I will keep it in mind for my next messy night out...
The Bank – SwindonOur meal was outstanding really welcoming we where well looked after would recommend to anyone ... we had the Sunday lunch .... only two thing I would recommend is that they do put there heaters on outside it was a lovely day but once the sun went down behind the large building out the back it become very cold we had to move tables which give us about 15mins more in the sun so I’d recommend taking something warm to wear or even a smell lap blanket as I will do next time and they could do something to help the food stay warmer for longer as it dose go cold fast sat outside. ....
The Bank – SwindonFood very nice, service good so a very pleasant had by all. Steve.
The Bank – SwindonWe were outside, my friend and I, and we were well cared of by the staff. I had a banger & mash and my friend chose the pasta & meatballs. At the end of our dinner, there was no food left in our plates. We enjoyed our time at The bank.
The Bank – SwindonGreat Sunday lunch just a couple of let downs. We were told that there would be heaters outside but sadly we were very cold in the shade.Secondly no pizzas as advertised on the children's menu.
The Bank – SwindonVery good.
The Bank – SwindonIt was very exciting to be out and everything that follows is meant to be constructive. The booking in process was muddled and the team appeared confused about whether they had my booking or not. And the time frame for the booking hadn’t been explained. I’d assumed it was time-boxed but probably helpful to set expectations at the point of booking. The cocktails where hit and miss. The food was not so good. The atmosphere was lovely and the waiting team where keen, but maybe not as organised as they could have been (or they will be in another weeks time). No problem going back as a lovely venue. But settling back in to it all.
The Bank – SwindonThis is the first negative review I have done and in general I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I have just been to the Wyndham Arms and experienced the worst customer service I think I have ever had. Having bought a couple of drinks and snacks and asked if we could sit outside and put up one of the umbrellas we were told to be careful as one of the outside parasols was broken. We tried to put up the parasol that we sat at but found the cord was detached from the handle mechanism used for putting up the umbrella and clearly broken. In the process of putting it up a grey haired lady, I believe possibly the owner, came out and asked us “if either of us had an education”. She then proceeded to accuse us that we had broken the parasol and told us to move away from it. Initially I thought she was joking as couldn’t believe someone would be so rude to a customer but very quickly realised she wasn’t. I worked in many restaurants, pubs and customer service roles when I was younger and would never dream of talking to a customer in this manner. We didn’t force the umbrella, we noticed the cord was already detached when we initially started to open it. I feel really shocked about being talked to in this way as a paying customer, it spoilt what had up to that point been a lovely afternoon. I certainly won’t be returning and will advise all friends in the area to avoid too. I would like to point out though the other lady working behind the bar was lovely and polite.
The Wyndham Arms – SalisburyWent in for meal Thursday 1st Nov. Lovely decorated place with warm welcome. Had mixed Meze starter followed by Iskender Kebab. The food was excellent, but due to eating earlier in day we could not manage all that was on table. The two ladies were very friendly with gorgeous smiles that made you feel really welcome. Browsing the menu there was a really good selection that won't break the bank. I look forward to returning very soon, but will starve myself all day to leave plenty of room for the delights on the menu.
Lalahan – Salisburycame to eat at buckles 3pm because didnt feel like eating dinner early.. sorry buddies, but had a good steak and kidney pie with gravy and chips. pity the chips is frozen chips, i wish they could do better, instead of frozen chips , i wish they cook. real potatoes chips, it's taste more better.. they would get more customers if they cook proper chips.. Thankyou for nice cup of strong black coffee, I would rather they would have strong coffee in the world to serve me, as I love to drink dark strong black coffee. With brown sugar.. Thankyou for your delightful dinner…. I've enjoyed it so much.. Thankyou...
Buckles – ChippenhamFood was terrible, worst I ever had.Found hair in curry sauce
Golden Star Fish Bar – SwindonVisited Whatley Manor again for Sunday lunch accompanied by live jazz. Although you can go down the traditional route with a Sunday Roast, it’s nice to have options for a change and our table went for the fondue in its various iterations and mussels and fries. Whatley is a beautiful place so make sure you take the time to see the public rooms and stroll round the grounds, weather permitting. A beautiful spa too!
Whatley Manor Hotel & Spa – MalmesburyAt last some authentic Thai food ! The Thai tapas lunch was great. can't wait for the Bury St.Edmunds branch to open where I live !
