Visited Othello's with my partner this evening and enjoyed the most fresh and finely cooked meal I've had in a restaurant for a long time. We shared fresh greek dips, Greek salad mixed with olives and amazing feta cheese and hot pitta bread to start followed by traditional chicken keebabs. The food was perfect and the chicken just melted in your mouth! Fabulous service too. We'll definitely be visiting Othello's again soon!

Went there this week. The place was deserted and we felt a bit lost. It's obviously very old,but it is spotlessly clean.Wasn't impressed with the pensioners menu, very boring and i thought maybe we had made a mistake. However we ordered steak and chips, the steak very well done. It was perfect. Usually well done means dry and toughbut this was lovely and the chips would be worth going back for alone. Going to be a regular of ours i think.

I went to this restaurant as it was a newly opened establishment in our area. Always expect maybe a few teething problems with new places but this was first class. Not only was the food out of this world, but the staff were fun, happy and very hardworking. Considering it is ramadam and the staff are fasting, they were absolutely fantastic. The interior is gorgeous and this new restaurant, will be around for many years to come. Honestly, the food and some of the flavours me and my boyfriend experienced were like nothing we've ever tasted before. And there were footballers in the next booth, so that kept my chap happy!!!

I have been here a few times but was rather disappointed at the last visit on Saturday evening. We arrived at the pub at 6.35 and ordered quite quickly but then waited until 7.25 before the food arrived, I did complain and asked to speak to the manager who thought that a half hour wait was quite acceptable and was not really interested. When the food did arrive the lamb was nice but the gammon tough and the sausages under cooked. The food is quite expensive for what it is. Unlikely to return again.

The Ying Wah had been recommended to me and my family as a value for money, great food, Chinese restaurant, I was so disappointed with the food, everything was bland, the barbecue rib sauce was watered down, the only thing that I can say that had any taste was the egg fried rice, but there wasn't much of it, we ordered a banquet for 2? yet was only given 1 dish of everything, I don't think this is value for money?, I believe when you order for 2 you should be given a meal for 2!. I cannot fault the staff they were nice, but I don't like feeling that I have been ripped off and that was how we felt when we left the restaurant last night, we will not be going back to the Ying Wah and I will definitely not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

We went for the first time last night and what an excellent meal. I used to eat at L'Alouette quite often and was very sad when it closed, however now I'm delighted we have this restaurant in Woolton. We ate from the Table D'Hote menu at £16.95 for 2 courses and the food was absolutely top notch. We took our 2 children who were made to feel very welcome, even though this is a very elegant restaurant, we didn't feel any issues with having children with us. The made a very superior sausages, mash

This was my first visit to Caveau and it certainly will not be the last. The service and ambience was very good and the food was excellent my only gripe would be that the prices they charge you should not have to pay for extra vegetables there should be a complementary bowl of them!

Dr Ann Burns

Agree with all of above: excellent food and very pleasant atmosphere. Sadly, what should have been a great evening was spoiled by poor service. Hope this will be sorted very soon!

Mostly in agreement about the food, but not about all the front-of-house staff. The two youngsters waiter and waitress were good. But the female maitre d' was haughty and condescending. The young waiter was superb, his counterpart tried hard. It seems to specialise in banquets but the barbecue sauce was insipid.

Was a regular diner at L'Alouette in Lark Lane, sadly closed due to lease expiration. Always enjoyed our dining there due to the great food that Dave presented and I am delighted that he has found his niche in his new venue 'CAVEAU' where he continues to delight with great dishes.

We went to Othellos restaurant after reading the reviews on this website and we were not disappointed. The staff went out of their way to help and were really friendly. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

A very warm back to the south Liverpool dining scene to Maitre Chef, David Roberts who is once more in his kitchen cooking gastronomic extravaganzas. First class food coming out of this new Woolton eatery

I am from Greece and was living in Liverpool for 6 years. I have visited all Greek Restaurants there and I would highly recommend Othello's!!! It is the only restaurant where food actually tastes like Greek food. Although I live in Edinburgh I work South quite often and I always make a stop in Liverpool to enjoy the fish meze (can't find in other restaurants, also definitely try the Kleftiko) at Othello's. Its not only the food but also the warm atmosphere and friendly staff that make me go back on every chance. If you have ever visited Greece and you want to have the same taste again, this is the place to go!!!
