Atmosphere is really nice. Staff are so friendly. Love the relaxed feel. We had the chickpea curry and adult carvery today, there was a nice variety of food items. It’s our second time so we’ll definitely be back. Just an observation from comments I’ve seen - You are seated and then they take your order and bring you a ticket to take to the carvery deck; it’s really straightforward.

First time visit, was greeted by friendly staff and the interior decor was very nice. Music playing was to my taste, old Ska etc. We all had the Caribbean carvery which was very tasty and well cooked. The desserts are a bit pricey compared to other eateries but nice nevertheless. Overall was a pleasant experience and will be returning in the near future.

Start to finish we felt very welcomed. The atmosphere in the place was vibrant with nice reggae music playing in the background. The service that we got from Neive was excellent. She interacted well with all members of my party which including my two grandchildren. The food in the buffet was delicious with great portion sizes. The only downside for us was that the two best selling dessertsat run out at our 4pm booking

The venue was clean and the staff were friendly, especially the team serving the food who seemed far less frazzled than the ladies working front of house. We were initially seated at a table in a walkway where people kept bumping into us as they passed. I asked if we could move to one of the empty tables nearby but was told they were fully booked. Throughout the evening I also noticed people being turned away for the same reason, yet none of the supposedly reserved tables were ever occupied. Eventually we moved ourselves to a quieter table out of the way and nobody seemed to mind. The service felt a little disorganised. Nobody explained how the carvery worked, we were not offered drinks, and we had to flag someone down to ask how to order food. In the end we went to the bar ourselves for drinks. It all felt a bit odd, although we assumed they may have been recovering from a busy period before we arrived. We chose the carvery, which looked exactly like the photos on the website. The macaroni cheese came at an extra charge, which essentially was just pasta with cheese on top. I had the battered cod which was freshly made. For dessert I tried the rum bites, which were delicious, although the portion felt tiny for £8. Overall, the food was decent enough, but it is not the sort of meal I would usually go for as it felt unhealthy for a carvery.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience. I travelled from London to experience this place. I ordered the fish portion where one out of the two pieces was just bone and this couldn’t be changed so had to take money off the bill. When we arrived no one explained how it worked and so it was confusing understanding the ordering and ticketing system. A lot of the food was lukewarm as the hot plates didn’t really keep the food hot and sadly the people serving didn’t have gloves on. The mac & cheese wasn’t to my liking I’d have liked more flavour. The waiters tried their best but seemed to not know the rules of the carvery including if fish can be mixed with meat (it cannot) and if you can have two Yorkshire puddings (you can). We were also promptly rushed out of seats at exactly 2hrs even though the pub had empty seats all around us, this did feel a little extreme- but understand policy. Overall, price point wasn’t bad, but would have been much better if the food was hot, the fish portion was better, the food portions were more and the servers were able to give a little more information to enhance the experience.

Came on Saturday night, atmosphere was great, music not too loud but loud enough to enjoy and have a sing along. Service was 100% from bar staff, to table staff to the chefs. Food was amazing. Will definitely be coming back to try the weekday menu and again for the carvery.

We visited for Carvery on 26/04 @ 17:30. We expected it to be busy as the reputation is very good hence why we chose here. Whilst the food was good on the whole mine was cold as a result of waiting for a Yorkshire pudding that never arrived as they literally only put them in once they had run out. (I witnessed this). Not best planned. Yes it was busy as it no doubt is every Sunday so this is a situation that shouldn't really occur. Also on arrival we were pointed in the direction of our table and told its number which was fine however I had to clear the table myself before we could sit down to eat. Why send people who have pre booked to a dirty table?

Not having been to the Goose for sometime I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The venue is very nice, the food was superb and the staff from I presume the manager to the chef and the wonderful plate collector were absolutely efficient and friendly and made our group of eight so so welcome. Everyone of us will go back there again.
