Lucy’s On A Plate – AmblesideI think the views from the restaurant windows are the best of any in the UK. And as the restaurant has had a Michelin star for years it makes this place a real special treat!
Sharrow Bay – PenrithThis is a tip top establishment in troutbeck. The place is spotless and has been restored with great attention to detail. The food was excellent and had professional service to match and to cap it all its situated in beautiful surroundings! A great place to stay or just eat
Broadoaks Country House Hotel – WindermereI enjoyed a great meal at the Queens Head at Hawkshead, good hearty British fayre!
Queens Head – HawksheadWe have dined here for two consecutive years, and are looking forward to next year. We highly recommend this restaurant. The welcome, service and food were amazing.
Postilion Restaurant – WindermereThe staff and owners were very welcoming. The food is excellent. Service was excellent.
Lakeland Spice – KeswickAnother top quality lunch, excellent value at £25 (3 courses plus appetiser and pre desert) A really good way to try out L?nclume without breaking the bank...guaranteed you?l be back to try the "big one" 10/10
L’Enclume – CartmelGreat curries from a well established restaurant.
Ali Taj Restaurant – WhitehavenSuperb five course dinner. Beautifully presented and wonderful food. Some of the best ranges of wines and other drinks I have ever seen in a small Hotel. I will certainly make a return visit.
Leathes Head Hotel – KeswickThe best café in the Lake District. If you go to Ambleside you must go there at least once.
Apple Pie Eating House and Bakery – AmblesideOne of our favourite pubs, with excellent choice of real ales and good food. Very busy at lunchtimes and early evenings. This is a pub to stay overnight and enjoy the relaxation in totality.
Britannia Inn – AmblesideA good quality restaurant, which we have visited twice in 2004 and 2003. It also appeared to be busy, and everyone enjoying their meals. In the Lakes, this is a Chinese well worth a visit.
Jade Fountain – UlverstonWhat an amazing night I had here, I just can't get over the level of service, the attention to detail, for a small country pub, to have a guy that can match wine to food, and make recommendations that is amazing. Dave looked after us very well all night, he is chirpy and really seems to know what he is doing, he kept the young waitress in check all night, and she was confident to follow instructions. Matt's cooking was great, I tried the Sea Bass from the specials board, what a delightful treat, whole instead of a piece. The Bay Horse, at Winton really puts other pubs to shame, Dave Davies' beer selection and upkeep is amazing. This guy could really go far. Keep up the good work people.
Bay Horse Inn – Kirkby StephenThe tastiest food ever. Better than the one across the street, the Ali Taj.
Akash Tandoori – WhitehavenIn the summer Wilf's decking overlooking the river Kent is the in place to be you can top up your tan whilst enjoying a great view and great coffee, cake selection needs updating though.
Wilf’s Cafe – KendalExcellent value, all freshly cooked food, generous portions for the larger appetite or petite sizes for the smaller appetite. Well presented, lovely surroundings, friendly atmosphere
Village Inn – Barrow-in-FurnessFor those wishing to eat the meal of a lifetime , try this one out. 8 , 13 , and 20 course taste experiences. Amazing presentation flavours that blow the mind friendly and helpful staff that know their jobs inside out. modern and relaxing atmosphere with no stuffiness. Casual clothing is well accepted, customers are here for the food. My recommendation - Go for the "tour menu"....fourteen courses and have your wine by the glass and matched perfectly to complement each dish. p.s. The rooms are within staggering distance.
L’Enclume – CartmelA great stop off from many of the amazing walks in this area of the Lakes. This pub has real character and good food.
