The Golden Castle, Bootle(Review by Bellinigirl)

I have been loads of times, the food is always piping hot, very tasty and we can never eat it all as you get so much. The service is excellent I would recommend to everyone, will be going after work on Tuesday to collect Christmas menus as I will be booking a Christmas lunch for 6 in early December. Had Christmas lunch last year and it was amazing.

Bold Arms, Southport(Review by Maureen Williams)

Visited The Bold Arms on 3/10/14 prior to the musical fireworks competition. Had a lovely meal but was more impressed by the service of one of the barmen (Donald). I asked if he knew what time the fireworks started. He rang to ask someone on reception and even said that if she didn't know, they'd look it up on line. Good customer service can make a place special and he did that.

Rookwood Bar & 'Cue
Rookwood Bar & 'Cue, Liverpool City Centre(Review by Brad Jones)

Went last Saturday and the burger was without question the best I've had in Liverpool. It was called a Boozy Suzy and made with homemade beer cheese. Whichever genius thought up mixing beer, cheese and burgers needs a medal or something. I'll definitely be back soon.

Blue Wave Indian Restaurant, Aintree(Review by Petral)

Finding myself in outer Maghull this dark wet monday night my trusty sat nav brought me to this venue, and yes its Blue, all over outside and inside millions of blue LEDs, can't miss it ! Inside its a blue pleasant room, staff are efficient but not over friendly and service was quick. The chef is obviously very spice savvy as the dishes are marked with heat peppers on the menu and they are accurate. I had Tiger prawns wrapped in chilli. They were served with fried onions and a small salad and yes the were chilly hot and delightful, main was an unusual hot lamb curry the name of which I did not recognise but it was very good. Served with Peshwari nan and Keema rice. Portions were very generous and the curry was hot and tasty with onions and green peppers all mixed in. I enjoyed the whole meal and value wise was splendid and they even do 2 for 1 for couples, cost for me £22 inc large tonic, really good value..

Samsara Thai Restaurant, Southport(Review by Petral)

This is a newish restaurant situated just outside Birkdale village. It is up 2 flights of stairs which caused me a problem but I persevered and yes , it was worth it. The room is modern and stylish and the staff are very friendly and attentive but the food wow it is great, light elegant great tasting spicy hot and very filling. I had hot and sour fisherman's soup and it was ! prawns, mussels and crab claws in the shell, chillies and whatever, absolutely great, I followed this with jungle prawn curry which was a delight, very spicy and hot, went down a treat. I was asked how hot I liked it and they even brought some fresh chillies in chllli oil. I had coconut rice with this and as a confirmed chilli head, I absolutely loved it, Dessert was coconut ice cream served in half a coconut shell, creamy and tasty. Bill was £31 including 2 bottles of tonic water. A top notch eatery does straight onto my A list
