We booked a meal for Saturday night on the recommendation from our BnB hosts. The atmosphere in the pub was convivial. The decorations quirky but colourful and welcoming. The service was exemplary - with a special mention to Martha who just smiled and laughed joyously throughout her shift. She seemed to love her job and could not have been more helpful or attentive. The food was really good value and delicious. My partner had the fishcake (she rated it highly) and I had a really excellent homemade burger . The guest draft pale ale was delicious. Highly recommend this joyous pub to anyone visiting Rye.

Had a fabulous meal here yesterday. The food was delicious (I can definitely recommend the paella) and beautifully presented! One of our party has an awkward health issue but it wasn’t a problem for the kitchen, her requests were listened to by the waiting staff and she enjoyed her meal without any worries. There is something for everyone on the menu, fish dishes (obviously!) as well as meat and vegetarian options. The staff were polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The ladies toilet was clean and I’m told the men’s were too!!! When the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised especially given two bottles of wine was consumed in addition to all 4 of us having 2 courses! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

The venue, the staff, the vibe were all amazing. Especially the service received from Marta, she was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the Salt Marsh Lamb, absolutely amazing and the best lamb I’ve ever eaten! Highly recommend!

Great choice to meet up with friends within walking distance of the centre of Rye. Food was delicious and the range of drinks excellent, particularly the cask ales. Will return.

The Blue is a high class fish restaurant, there is a fabulous menu, and always a specials board. The food is absolutely beautiful. Very friendly service and we have never been disappointed. We are so lucky to have the Blue just six mikes away!

This restaurant is the best one for fish. We always have the tasting menu to share and it is amazing. We eat fish that we would never think to try and are always amazed at the flavours

On one of those rare, golden days, as we cruised through the sunlit countryside with thirst and hunger growing, a stylish bistro/pub caught our eye beside a picturesque bridge. We quickly pulled into the riverside car park, expecting nothing more than ordinary pub grub. Instead, we were greeted by Talented Tom, the owner and BBQ maestro, who promised the finest meat feast in town. The riverside garden offered a peaceful retreat, where the mouthwatering aroma from the BBQ pit teased our senses and set our appetites alight. What looks like a humble menu on the wall is actually a gateway to a sensory adventure that will surprise you at every turn. Tom's BBQ platter tempted diners to indulge far beyond their limits, with generous portions perfect for taking home. We ordered a burger and a hot dog, expecting a quick bite, but the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, bursting with seasoning and cooked to perfection by Tom's expert hand. Every bite was irresistible. Staff were smiling and friendly towards new faces, and Tom showed us great hospitality, making us feel welcome straight away. The kayaks available for hire tempted us to return for another round of riverside adventure. The bathroom was very clean, and the bar area was perfect for any mixologist. This place is a hidden countryside gem, and I cannot wait to return with friends and family to share the unforgettable wild boar hot dog and beef burger I discovered here.
