Great pub friendly atmosphere
Queen Victoria Inn – AberdareThe Hanbury Arms is a great pub with a great atmosphere the food is good and at affordable prices, staff are friendly. Their Sunday Lunch is excellent and at £4.00 for one course you can't go wrong, but you have to book as it is very busy as you can imagine with the price
Hanbury Arms – BargoedBeer is all right. The landlord is OK but the landlady thinks she's chocolate. I left after one pint as she prefers talking to regulars than serving visitors.
Pendre Inn, The – FishguardUsed to be good until the people from the ship and anchor came here. Now the food and presentation is lousy, like the beer. The chap in charge of the kitchen is the problem. Obviously never heard of soap and water.
Old Coach House, The – FishguardConsistently good food, well cooked and presented; served by young but professional staff. Welcoming attentive and friendly hosts. A warm and relaxed ambience and the best value for money dining experience for miles around. But watch the wine by the glass - prices high and can rub off the value for money quotient.
Crown at Pantygelli, The – AbergavennyI absolutely loved dining out at the Llangeinor Arms. The weather outside was awful, but the atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming. The meal was delicious and the service very prompt. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to try it out!
Llangeinor Arms – BridgendStunning Sunday lunch, absolutely gorgeous. Good real ale selection too.
Otley Arms – PontypriddGorgeous gorgeous food, lovely surroundings and the friendliest staff you could get anywhere. We go here to eat regularly due to quality of menu.
Royal Oak Chinese Restaurant – Pontypriddfood was average some staff were polite others just rude. Not a place I would choose to dine at.
Spread Eagle, The – Carmarthenthis place is really lovely, as soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and the food was first class. i can highly recommend visiting the bush inn - i will certainly be going back there!
Bush Inn – Tenbythis place has so gone down hill since my last visit, avoid if you are looking for a nice meal!
Pelcomb Inn – Haverfordwesti love this place food is cheap i now go here once a week the food is the best I've tasted. the staff are great i cant say enough bout this place i always av the chicken tikka masala and the way they do it it tastes great cant recommend this place enough if u haven't been here u should try it best curry house in cardiff ive tried all the others and this place beats the competition hands down.
Radhuny Indian Restaurant – Cardiffi used to like this place but i now find 2 doors up the rad hunni its far far better the staff have time 4 you in the kismet i allways feel they rush you to finish ur staters and the rad hunni they make the curry to ur likeing as i have chiken tikka massala done wiv a sweet tang to it its not to much trouble 4 these guys. and 6.95 4 course u cant go wrong.
Kismet Tandoori Restaurant – CardiffDo not go there! Having been there very recently for their all you can eat Sunday buffet, a friend and I were treated very badly. We were told that we were greedy for taking more than 1 small plate between us for the chutney tray and when I took a clean plate for my main, I was questioned about this which I thought was extremely rude as this was simply hygienic. My friend felt so intimidated that she didnt even eat a main course. When we paid the bill and explained our thoughts, the staff were not very understanding or helpful.
Bengal Lancer – LlanelliThe Amroth Arms has excellent home cooked local food. They are always welcoming with polite and helpful staff. You need to book on Saturday evenings and for Sunday lunch. The local Welsh Black Beef steaks from the grill are very good as is the local crab salad. Always very good value and quality.
Amroth Arms – Tenbygreat food, wonderful host and chef, always happy to please
Pump on the Green – HaverfordwestGreat food, great beer, great value. We were delighted to find Butterflies in Blanaevon via an obscure web reference but also recommended by Oakfield B & B where we were staying. The atmosphere was welcoming and the bar seems to be the best kept secret in the town. The service is fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly recommend a visit.
Butterflies – PontypoolI am very disappointed in the management and security staff at Alfred’s bar & grill. On Friday 18th July 2008, I was having a quiet drink in the bar area downstairs with my friend. A female customer whom I did not know, pushed me off a bar stool from the back. Rather than start a confrontation, I seeked help from the bouncers and manageress on duty. Nothing was done! I was fobbed off even though I gave a full description and told them where the female was sitting. I felt it best to leave and it ruined an other wise lovely evening.
