I made a reservation for 2 people to visit the Whitchurch branch of Zio Pin on a Friday night. On arrival we were "greeted" by a miserable girl at the bar who couldn't find our booking and looked like she'd rather be elsewhere. Her boss came over and said "it's not there, nothing I can do." Eventually he finds he's booked it in for the Saturday night. We would have accepted an apology but he wasn't at all sorry and didn't offer to make amends. I will not be returning to this restaurant and would not recommend it due to the rude attitude of the staff.

visited last year July 2007 for my boyfriends birthday. Lovely location great views. All of which spoilt by the service and the food. We ordered a steak and sea bass. Fish was lovely but the steak although asked fr medium was raw. We sent it back, all they did was burn the outside which left it tough. We complained when the manager asked us was everything ok, we also wrote our comments on the comments sheet leaving our phone numbers. Although the manager said he would deal with it and for us not to worry he would sort something nothing was ever done and we were expected to pay for the poorly cooked meal. As it was a birthday celebration we didn't want a scene so we have voted with our feet and won't go there again. We have also told everyone we know about our evening there. If the problem had been dealt with properly we may have gone back as the wine list is good and the location very pleasant. As a result of poor service we will never go there again and neither any of our friends. Big mistake as we eat out every week.

The problem with Toby Carvery in Newport is that when i went there i finished my food and then it took ages like 30 mins to come just to pick our plates up and to take our order for the desert !

If Indian restaurants were owned by Indians then you would notice what a proper curry tastes like, chicken is never boiled and then added to a sauce. Curries cooked in 5 mins not a real curry. Ask where the chef comes from first before you eat.

In a good spot below the road to Castell Coch. Well-run pub. Food inexpensive but usually pretty good. Popular stopping-off point with walkers and cyclists. Bar usually full of people watching sport.

The food was OK, but service not great. Cold food not my favourite.

Has the potential to be a nice pub. For now, most locals seem to have drifted away. Bar attracts young and boisterous crowd. Lounge can be very quiet - and a bit depressing. There's an Indian restaurant upstairs: food OK, but lacking in atmosphere.

Some of the best cooking around, mostly using local ingredients, which can rival any restaurant in South Wales.

An utter dump. Awful food and the place is generally dirty and run down. NOT recommended.

Disguted!! Booked a double room for my wife and myself. On arriving we managed to get our keys, eventually, and we were shown to our room. When we booked we were told that they had a twin and a double room, we booked the double, we were also told that if we cancelled we would be charged £10 each. The room looked nothing like the room shown on their website, it was a twin room, and when we said about it the woman said that they would push the two single beds together. Pushing 2 single beds together in a very small pokey room does not make it a double. We refused the room as it was not worth anywhere near the £75 per night they were trying to charge us, we were told that we were just being picky and that we would still be charged by a jumped up member of staff. Bring back the old owners I say, and so do many others we have spoke to.

A traditional pub which is the life and blood of its community. I frequented this splendid pub while on archaeological excavations in Trellech during the Summer 2007 period. The food there was really nice with a large menu selection to suit all palets. The choice of beverages presented to the punter was not only aesthetically pleasing but the ultimate punters paradise. All ales are changed usually within three days and there are many great country and house ciders to choose from. Also on offer at certain times in the year are the whisky festivals held regularly in the pub which not being the most avid whiskey fan enjoyed trying out a few of the vast selections that this pub offered. It has been given past awards for Best Pub , and this is made present on entering why it deserved the prestigious accolade. The owners are the most friendly and welcoming owners I have ever met and the Hungarian dog that they own is very friendly and entertaining. A place for both old and young alike!

A very nice restaurant with warm and friendly staff. The meals there were very good value for money and also had a free pint in with my meal. In close proximity to the cinema and the leisure centre and a brisk walk to the town. I went with a group of my friends and would certainly recommend this pub as it is both family friendly, and every one who go there are given a great welcome.

Went there for lunch on Friday. Can say that the Carvery was well presented and a good choice of vegetables was on offer. The gravy was absolutely delicious and could tell that it was home made! The staff were very attentive to the needs of its diners and were happy to please. You could not go to far wrong as the carvery meals were an inexpensive £4.99 per adult and £2.99 for child. Also worth mentioning was the ales that the pub had to offer which was very pleasing as they offered choices both in bottled form and from the tap with the Banks Beer being sold for just £2, with drinks offers being extensively renewed and updated. A quality pub in the heart of Felinfoel!

I would not recommend the cedar tree, we went there for my fathers 70th Birthday at 7.30 on 23.06.08, no steak left so had to re-order 8 meals, husband and son had lamb shank and have been sick and had upset stomach all night. Order not taken until 8.20pm waitress very nice and apologetic, I blame it on bad management.

We've been coming to this place for years now and it is astounding how the service is so consistently Beautiful! The food is excellent as always but the fact of the matter is the cocktails. Fine fun, two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
