I would not recommend this pub for something to eat if it was the last pub on earth, but the beer's good

We visited the Maenllwyd on 29th February 2008, intending to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were so disgusted at the treatment that we received from the 'Table Manager' that we left without sampling the food and would now never return. Our crime to sit on a table that could accommodate more than 2 people, we were given the choice of sitting by the door to the car park (bearing in mind it was a cold and rainy winter’s night) or going on the waiting list for a table to become vacant. As we’d arrived just after 6pm, had to get back to collect our children by 8.30pm and already had a table this didn’t seem a very good option. We were also accused of removing the ‘reserved sign’ from the table, if there had been a sign, as there was on the table opposite, we would not have sat there in the first instance. As the ‘Table Manager’ was quite adamant that he was not going to serve us and actually walked away from the table saying he would ‘get someone to sort us out’ we decided that the stalemate was not going to be resolved, so we left. It was incredibly disappointing to be treated with such contempt by someone who should have been concerned about customer service not just the profit that would be made by seating more people at the table.

A real 'family run' restaurant. The staff are very accommodating and really polite. Great food at realistic prices and a superb wine list. Sunday lunch is excellent but you need to book your table two weeks in advance. Definitely worth a visit, it is great for any occasion, first date to family get together. There is plenty of room between the tables. i hope this helps good eating.

Excellent traditional British Fayre served in bar & restaurant along with open wood fires & low beamed ceilings - Home made pate a superb starter also breaded scampi with creamy garlic sauce or chicken & bacon with a crisp green salad all superb - main courses range from grills to more elaborate saucy cuisine - daily "blackboard" special include fish of the day - big emphasis towards local produce - all topped off with guest ales or wide range of international wines - all in all well worth a visit - you won't be stuck for choice or disappointed

Great local with a good food menu and friendly bar staff. Live music, poker and quiz nights weekly

I went to Castellamare for a meal with my boyfriend for Valentines, i had a cod meal and it was really beautiful. A great service and a brilliant candlelit atmosphere makes this fab restaurant a strong recommendation!

Absolutely fabulous. Attention to detail, friendly, personal and plenty of space. Rustic, living room style with only 9 tables. French chef. Our favourite place in the whole of Cardiff. Not cheap but worth every penny. Advanced booking recommended.

Had a meaty spaghetti bolognese made with locally reared meat. There was such an ample portion I couldn't finish it and there was no room for pud!

Have used this restaurant for sit down meals and takeaways. Staff are very friendly as mentioned, normally have a complimentary glass of Cobra when waiting for my takeaways :) Food is always very good, lots of dishes although I am not very adventurous so haven't tried many apart from the chicken dishes.

Good restaurant a bit high on the price but still good staff.

this is my dad s restaurant i love this restaurant because its the best curry house in llanelli and the best staff is Mr Mozahid cozz he s is one of the rich man here and i like mushud cozz hes funny and crazy

Excellent ambience and atmosphere , gorgeous food better than any other restaurants in Llanelli specially the owner , Very kind and caring also really funny. All staff are delightful to stay with i give this restaurant a 100% vote for the best restaurant in Llanelli.

Simply best in Llanelli Carms. They are the best curry house.

This is certainly one of the best pub restaurants that I have ever eaten in. A lovely location and a varied well priced menu, I can recommend the fish and chips! The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you.
