Harry Watkins, The – LlanelliA good family pub, nice atmosphere with friendly service, a smile and good grub.
Crown Inn, The – Tenbythis and rhiwbina are the tops not the cheapest but the best . whatever is the bangladeshi for numero uno.
Juboraj Restaurant – CardiffFantastic place - have been a couple of times now. Went on a Thursday before, in a party of 12 and had a brilliant time. However, recommended it to my boyfriend and we went on Friday, atmosphere very different - had a group of people almost leaning over us as we ate because it was so packed in there. But I don't think the people that packed it out were even eating there. My suggestion; go on a weekday
Ba Orient – CardiffA great place to eat, good friendly staff which create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, fantastic service, modern fresh & funky decor & unusual outstanding menu. Great all round, highly recommended for meeting friends for lunch in the day or for fun cocktails and well presented high quality food at night, great for any special occasion.
Oscars of Cowbridge – CowbridgeGreat food. Nice village. Nice locals. Even let you pay next day do not accept credit cards.
The Dragons Head – AbergavennyExcellent food every time. Early bird is great value.
Foresters Oaks Country Inn and Leadons Brasserie, The – NewportThis is a gem of a place, a cross between a bar, a restaurant and a mini arts & crafts shopping centre. A bit like Afleck's Palace in Manchester, and completely unexpected in Haverford West. Feels like it should be at Glastonbury. The food is EXCELLENT if you like real "made on the premises" dishes, with a fair amount of variety and flair. For lunch I had a smoked duck salad and a tiramisu, and was spoilt for choice. Wished I'd been able to return but was on a flying (working) visit. If I'm ever in the region again I'd make a bee-line there!
Georges Restaurant and Cafe Bar, The – HaverfordwestWe went to this restaurant on a Sunday evening and were extremely lucky to get a table as we were advised to book. As you enter this restaurant it's like entering another world. It's dimly lit by lots of lovely candles and the decor is truly original which makes it very atmospheric. It's the perfect place for a romantic meal. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. There is lots to choose from, especially if you like fish. The food / wine was lovely and the portions were a good size. I can thoroughly recommend the creme brulee for dessert. Although this is a lovely restaurant and somewhere to go for a special occassion you need to save up before going as it's definitely not cheap, but all in all I think it's worth it. Definitely worth a visit if you can afford it.
Plantagenet House – TenbyWe went to Little India on a Friday night and found it to be very quiet around 7pm, but got busier as the evening progressed. The service was very quick and the waiters were extremely pleasant. The decor was a little odd, but clean and tidy. I only have one word to describe the food which is "fantastic". We were really impressed and could have eaten here all holiday given the chance. I'm sure it would become one of our favourite restaurants if it were nearer Manchester.
Deshi Spice – TenbyWent to China Town on a Saturday night so we expected it to be busy, which it was. The service was quite slow and we had to ask if we could order our food, but I expect on a quieter night the service would be much quicker. The food / house wine was very nice and the portions were more than adequate. Reasonably priced and well worth a visit.
China Town – TenbyWe ate here on Sunday17/07/07 Paul who is the owner was cooking I chose the lamb and my son had the beef, my son who is mad on yorkies was delighted when he was brought an extra plate of the same without it being a problem. The veg was not lacking either we had proper roast potatoes roast parsnip-boiled potatoes-creamed leeks-cabbage-carrots-swede-broccoli-cauliflower-peas-all cooked to perfection. I nearly forgot the sweet as I was eating the main in my mind again,my son had icecream and I had the chocolate and lime cheesecake delicious!!.-------In the week we returned to have another meal in the evening the restaurant changes to Indian food once again a different and brilliant meal I was told that the chef was second in the Indian chef of the year a couple of years ago and it showed in the food well done all the staff a great team. If you are in Solva don't miss this one.
