Foodieontour

overall this was a good experience. The food was above average, if not slightly overpriced. We would go back but don't like it as much as the Brunning and price pubs, the frozen mop and the bears Paw. I think the attention to detail here falls short in several areas and this establishment has a muddled identity. The staff were very friendly and attentive and service was of a high standard. I can recommend the lamb but don't expect large portions. The wine list has some quality wines to choose from. Don't let the excess of olive green paint get you down !! I would give this place 7 1/2 / 10. In summary, room for improvement but a cut above the norm, if money does not matter.

I have eaten here twice and enjoyed neither of the meals. We thought the first time might have been a blip so went back again at the weekend to try, as we both love Thai food. The meal was really lacking in flavour and substance, the sizzling beef dish was dry and unappetising, the king prawn dish was very average. It's a shame as I really want to like Aroi Thai as there's no other Thai restaurant now in Nantwich. However I feel the food is really below par and would not go again.

one of the best Indian restaurants i have tried in years, so good i travel there every week, if there is a restaurant that i recommend it has to be this one, up there along with the best.

Took my wife here for breakfast to celebrate the first day of spring! Food and service excellent.....Really friendly staff and clearly passionate about good food and local suppliers. Picked up some great produce from the farm shop as well. Will definitely be back soon!

Fabulous bistro, this is my fourth or fifth visit. This time I was there for Mother's Day. I'd booked a table for six (including a 3-year-old and 2-year-old). Four generations of our family went along and we each had something completely different from a fabulous Mother's Day fixed price menu, including a free glass of champagne! Absolutely everything was delicious, cooked by Australian chef Dave. His other half Lorraine looked after front of house and as always her happy and easy manner made us all very relaxed as soon as we arrived. A young waiter was also helping front of house, he was fab&friendly too. The bistro was busy, which is always a good sign, but Dave had staggered bookings so that he was able to prepare excellent quality food with just the right amount of waiting time for everyone. All the other diners certainly seemed to be as satisfied as my own family. Each and every dish that arrived at our table was special, unique and delicious. Starters: I had a wild rice & parsnip fritter, my Sister had crayfish cocktail, my Mum had courgette&lemon soup, my Daughter had tempura chicken with Asian noodles, Babies had melon with berries, currants & coulis. Mains: I had seabass &creamy chive mash, Mum had chicken with brie&sunblushed tomato, Sister had twice-baked cheese souffle, Daughter had sirloin of beef with all the trimmings, Babies had chicken goujons with perfect chips & trimmings. Desserts: I had (exquisite) red wine poached pears, Mum and Sister had (huge) black forest gateau, daughter had (most divine) strawberry souffle, Babies had ice-cream (honeycomb for Oliver, Raspberry for Lilian). We all left feeling very full, and very happy! What more could we have asked for!!

A total disappointment! Unfortunately I had an awful experience at this place. The place is indeed cute, with a nice interior and the location alongside the canal is ideal for a nice lunch. However, I found it dirty and the managers behaviour was a total disgrace: I found him rude, patronising, unreasonable and totally unprofessional! I was upset leaving the place and I am 6 months pregnant - he has no idea how to talk to people. He actually stuck his finger in my food to try to prove to me that I was wrong that it wasn't very hot, and then expected me to eat it after that, because he was definitely refusing to give me a refund, for a £6 omelette. He actually told me he was a millionaire and had no time for my comments, even though I was perfectly polite. Nice location or not, it is the people that make a place. Slow service, cold food and then nasty attitudes, from the management, made this the worst dining experience I have ever had. My advice to potential customers: either don't go, or at least ask for a receipt and DO NOT PAY until after you have been served. A total disappointment!

Brilliant place, very good excellent value for money. If you are visiting Crewe, I can only recommend a visit. It's very busy, because of the price, but well worth waiting for. You will not be disappointed.

Vindaloo is really nice and the decor is fresh and very pretty. Although I think the waiting area is in the wrong place, its currently situated at the back of the restaurant which you have to walk all the way through to get to. We were seated almost straightaway so we didn't have to wait very long. Our waitress was very nice although a smile would of been nice. We ordered some drinks, they don't serve alcoholic drinks although you can take your own. We ordered a couple of poppadoms and the chutney tray to start with, which was absolutely delicious. The Mango chutney was lovely and the garlic chutney was so nice we could easily of ate just that. Our starters came not long after that. I ordered the Mishti Kebab Puri which was absolutely delicious. It contained pieces of chicken and lamb and then sheek kebab with pineapple essences and a light spice. My husband had the Jhinga Butterfly which was a King Prawn covered in breadcrumbs with a light spice. They weren't kidding when they said a King Prawn. We ordered a couple more drinks before our main meals came out. We ordered one portion of pilau rice but I think we should of ordered two, we also ordered a garlic and coriander naan bread. I had Lamb Rogan Josh and my husband had Chicken Korma, both were equally delicious but we were so full up it was really hard to finish it all. Apart from a mix up with the Naan bread (we received a chilli naan instead of the garlic and coriander one so I burnt my tongue) we had a fabulous time and a really great meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant either to eat in or take away. You won't be disappointed if you dine here.

This Pub is the best that I have ever been in, the atmosphere is so calm and soothing, the meals are always, always first class, the service is second to none, and all the staff are so courteous, try it and you will not go any ware else

Superb value and food all served up with a great big helping of friendliness.... First time last night and will be back for many more. Mamocha's (apologies for the spelling) are superb and a first for me. How do you give such great food at such great value. Thanks for a great meal Best wishes and see you soon (with friends) John

A total disaster, not an experience I would ever want to repeat. Four out of six diners had to reorder food as their initial choice was "out of stock". Two kids were offered free puddings as compensation, only to later be told they couldn't have the dessert they wanted, it had to be ice-cream. Waited 25 mins for table to be cleared, waited 30 mins for kids ice cream, before reminding waiter. Nothing at all would encourage me to revisit this establishment. I recommend you don't waste your time or money.

Can't believe I've lived less than a mile from this restaurant for over 4 years and never been until tonight. Absolutely fantastic food, particularly recommend the "Saffron Royal" starter for 2. Will be a regular there in future!

Robert and Anita, the hosts at the Spinner, should be rightly proud of this superb hostelry. We have always enjoyed meals at this comfortable and welcoming pub. Food is generally locally sourced and imaginatively cooked, delicious and large portions with a wine list for all tastes and pockets. This is the best food in the area at very economical prices, eg. main courses at approx £9 -16.

Spinner and Bergamot – Northwich
The Silver Zebra

exc food exc menu with a twist and great staff and surroundings - highly recommended! and we will be going back again. a great addition to sandbach! from a comfy place for a coffee to a high dining event with friends....wish we had something like this local sooner. Hope they do well :)
