Passage To India – CreweExcellent German fayre for a party of 30 - the food gets better and better. Well done Claudia!
Chetwode Arms – WarringtonUpon visiting the King William of Wilmslow. I was impressed from the outset by the appearance outside and, this was heavily complimented by the inner interior. The mood and tone set by the staff was very welcoming. And a sense of family value was strongly picked up on. i strongly recommend visiting the pub, and dining their, you wont come across such a pub diverse as this.
King William – Wilmslowgreat restaurant, excellent atmosphere. Murillos is full even on a Tuesday night in November so best booking. Normally works out about 25 pounds a head with a bottle of house Valencia red and a couple of drinks. Good waiting team and very smart place to dine or have a drink as we notice lot of ladies having a drink and few tapas. We will go back.
Today we went to the Coach House Restaurant in Chester. We were served our soup and roll which was quite nice, but then had to wait 50 minutes for our main meal which was poor. We had to remind the manager twice that we had been waiting for our main course. Would definitely not go back again.
The Coach House – ChesterI have been eating food from Mr Bashir's restaurants for over 25 years. He has employed a series of excellent chefs, many of whom have gone on to open their own establishments. I have never had anything less than an excellent meal at the Bengal Station, or the Aloka (in Crewe) before it. I highly recommend this restaurant. The Tikka is fantastic (ask for a Madras curry sauce) and the Chicken Jalfrezi and Lamb Balti are to die for! Try them with a guitar-sized Keema Nan!
Bangol Station – NantwichThis unpretentious restaurant served generous portions of excellent food at normal prices for the area. The staff were friendly and efficient without being over-attentive. The toilets were clean and well-kept. Highly recommended!
Taqudir Tandoori – CreweThe food is very good, however the lack of attention by staff was disappointing. The price is very expensive which spoiled a very nice evening. Over £90 per couple for small portions. wine and water particularly expensive and any vegetables were a pricey extra.
Pesto at Cabbage Hall – TarporleyThis is definitely our new place to dine! What can i say I've actually found a curry house where the lamb doesn't feel like its been cooked for days. It is actually the opposite. It is so tender and so soft it just breaks apart with the slightest touch. Chicken Tikka, Chops, Nann Breads etc all to a superb standard. Not only is the food beautiful but the decor is modern and clean too in a lively location. I would highly recommend this for one to try in the near future.
Mughli Restaurant – KnutsfordAm I the exception? We did not get to finish our meal as after waiting an hour after finishing the starter with no main course we walked out. The manager could only apologise but she did not know why it had happened. I choose poor for service actually it was worse than poor.
Chopstix – NantwichWe regularly eat here and regard it as the standard against which we judge other pub restaurants, and it is unusual to find any to equal it.We are lucky in having it as our 'local'. A&BK
Pesto At The Davenport Arms – Macclesfieldme and my family go to the Cheshire cheese on a regular basis, the food is great value at 2 for £10 with fresh home made chips and homemade pies and curries etc. The restaurant is clean and tidy with a modern feel and the service is good with nice pleasant staff. The kids go out and play in the big outdoor play area whilst we relax in the bar. I would recommend the place to anyone old and new. I give it 8 out of 10 overall dave and jemma
Koconut Grove @ Cheshire Cheese – CreweI took my fiance Mark Winterburn here for a quiet romantic evening, and that's exactly what I got. Quality service and food in a superb setting. Highly recommended - probably the best eatery in Culcheth.
Duckegg Bluu – WarringtonThis place is so good I just had to leave a second review! I went last night with my partner and our two grandchildren and the staff were positively superb! My youngest grandson, Graham, is only 8 and has an uncanny nack of knocking things over.. He knocked his drink over a total of three times and I was so embarrassed but the waiters dealt with the problem in a manner the Queen's butler would be proud of! Food again was tantalisingly good, as was the service of Alistair Douglas the young gentleman who cleaned up the spillage! I recommend everyone to go!
Don Luigi – WarringtonWe went to The Romper off the back of another recent review following the refurbishment (not quite finished - toilets are the last to be done but won't take long apparently!). We had 3 main courses, one dessert (only one of us still had room after the large main courses) and one bottle of very nice wine and the cost was just over £45. We were served promptly and the food was perfectly cooked, well presented and very hot! The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The surroundings are now subtly modern, but complementary of the old building. They are serving a Mediterranean menu so there is plenty of choice. We will definitely be going back!
The Romper – MarpleFor a special evening out we always choose Pecks. All my guests have been impressed every time I have been. Want to impress a visitor or client this is the place.
Pecks Restaurants – CongletonThe staff were friendly and helpful however they were let down by the appalling food that came out of the kitchen. The waitress looked embarrassed to be serving such rubbish. We waited almost an hour for a table and then about 40 minutes for food so you can imagine we were quite hungry by then. White wine was served warm, then when we asked if we could have some cold white wine they brought it with ice in! Calamari in doughnut batter ugh!! Fajitas - a warm sizzle plate covered with fried onions and red peppers topped with slices of cold roast chicken - not a hint of spice anywhere. Cajun chicken - a huge plate of green salad with a few small shreds of the same cold roast chicken thrown in. Unbelievable and what courage the chef must have had to send out those dishes from the kitchen - or maybe they just don't give a damn considering that the place gets really full once the disco starts. Surely not the place if you like good food.
Fiesta Havana – ChesterI was really disappointed with what I thought would be 'authentic' italian food. Starters - mussels, some closed and very small.. caesar salad made with cheap mayonnaise... carpaccio served with the mayonnaise??? no olive oil. Main meal - pizza was made with pre made base and was soggy and way too thick.. Lasagne was good. Pizza was the biggest disappointment - no need to have pre made bases and to have these in an 'authentic' italian restaurant is unbelievable to me. The decor was good and staff were friendly.
