Amazing service, lots of gluten free options, and the prices are very reasonable!

Here for a weekend and decided to try out this restaurant due to great reviews and have to say both my husband and I were not disappointed. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere and wonderful food. Will return if we are in the area again.

Wow what an amazing trip back in time in this quaint & quirky listed building. After having the Bellypork & dauphinoise potatoes, which was absolutely delicious, we retired to The Dora room which main feature is a the beautiful 4 poster bed. The staff were so friendly, accommodating & couldn’t do enough to make our stay that extra bit special. Shame we didn’t get to see the famous badgers that reside close by or visit the Rydal Cave, but it is definitely now on our to do list.

We've visited the Tavern several times before, but our experience under this new management was by far the best. The decor has always been lovely, but this time the food was excellent, the service superb, and we were all of us struck by the warmth of the welcome from Sam. We'll definitely be making this a regular haunt from now on.

Love the newly refurbished decor. A lovely warm welcome and the open fire was much appreciated. Our dogs were made welcome too. Excellent service provided by Bella, scrumptious food. Loved the beef pie, mash, mushy peas & gravy and the homemade sticky toffee pudding was light & delicious. The creme brulee & homemade biscuit were also excellent. Cannot fault our lunchtime dining experience. We will definitely return and would highly recommend to others.

If you visit Keswick without a meal at the Pheasant Inn, you’re missing out on a local treasure. Superb friendly service, delicious meals and a good selection of ales and wines served in a welcoming atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Even though it’s January and a bit quiet. There was a good amount of people In there. They’re is a good choice of beers and wine. The food is very good and the waitress was great.

We had a table booked for 4 people on a Sunday evening. Service was excellent and very friendly. The food was superb; fresh and home cooked. If you have any four legged friends, we could see that they are most welcome in the bar area. Best pub food in Keswick, we will be back on our next visit to the area.

Amazing food, wine & atmosphere

This man's currys are spot on, I've had a few currys in my time and this was definitely up there, service from the lady was spot on too, lovely little hidden gem in the lakes, will definitely be back and would highly recommend. Very good value for money too, portion sizes are spot on.

We booked for a table with six friends on a Saturday evening. The Wheatsheaf is a lovely cosy pub and the food is delicious. My only criticisms would be that our table was directly next to the front door, so we constantly had a cold draft everytime someone went in or out and were constantly getting up to close the door after everyone. I’m afraid the service was also far too slow and it’s not the first time we’ve had that problem. More attention should be spent on dining customers rather than talking at the bar.
