Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithAfter having walked the Fairy Steps, we sat down at The Wheatsheaf for some drinks. It is a nice place with good service. The evening we came back again for dinner. My wife ordered Salmon and I had Beef with stout which was really tasteful and recommendable. Unfortunately we are back from holidays now, but if I ever get nearby again, I will certainly visit the Wheatsheaf again. Please keep the stout on the menu! Best regards from Delft, The Netherlands.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFaultless! Excellent Gastro Pub with a lovely selection of food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Never felt rushed to vacate table. Would happily eat there again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent service food amazing, good pub
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe went to the Queen'Head for a Father's Day Sunday lunch. There were five of us in total from 72 years to 2years six months. We all had an excellent meal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and could not do enough for our toddler. The portions were just right, cooked well and served nice and hot. None of us had been to the Queen's Head before, but we will definitely be back.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe were a group of 4 and had an amazing meal, the food was fantastic and service friendly, would highly recommend.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithBoth the food and the service was fantastic .
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalExcellent meal well cooked also well presented, very pleasant and friendly staff so nice we have booked another meal with them. Disappointed and surprised to see that they allowed dogs into the restaurant,
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI've wanted to try this place for a while as I've heard good things about it, and I wasn't disappointed. The service was good, the food was great, I couldn't fault anything about the experience, best meal I've had in a long time, I'll definitely be back, and spreading the word. Well worth a visit.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe always visit the Pheasant Inn when staying in Keswick. The food is good and the atmosphere very pleasant. Its popularity does mean it is always busy but the staff are hard-working and attentive and we have always enjoyed our visits.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickVery nice food, very good for those of us following a gluten free diet. Portions very big, service good. This is a very busy pub and can be a bit tight getting past chairs etc but well worth a visit.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe ate at the Queesns Head 4 times in our 'walking week'. Started with Sunday lunch with some friends which was lovely, then we had 2 full meals finishing off with some small bites on our last day. The staff were amazing, the food was also fantastic; best find - Cumbrian way ale!!!!! Thank you to everyone who we met and the ones behind the scenes working so hard!!
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithExcellent food, decent sized portions not over facing. Staff were very attentive.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalWe had a really lovely meal on our first visit to Carlisle. Starters and mains were tasty, generous and very good value. Would have had a desert if I could have fitted one in. Friendly, prompt service. Thank you.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAbsolutely the best steak dinner I've had from arriving into the UK from Australia. Staff were amazing, the Italian Red was superb, we'll be back, our new favourite.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOn our annual visit to the Lake District decided we must enjoy Lewis’s menu again even though we were staying over 45 minutes drive away. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. You know the standards have been maintained when the restaurant is full and there is a steady turnover of tables throughout the evening and people being turned away who haven’t booked. There is a good selection of starters an£ main courses and the portions are not small. Great care is given to the food presentation and it arrives all hot. Cannot praise them highly enough and would recommend them to anyone staying in Grasmere and the surrounding area. Well worth the visit.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAs ever the food (a cassoulet) was delicious. The Farmers Arms is unquestionably the best pub for a meal in the South Lakes.
