Had a lovely meal here last night. Food excellent staff friendly and attentive service very good.

Visited for Pie Night last week of January 2022. We love this restaurant and are frequent visitors. Since the new chef/patron took over last year the standard of food and service has improved hugely, and it is a delight to have this place in our little town. Pie was fabulous, and a smart choice for the January clientele. Family business too, so very happy to support that!

My wife and I were on a short break in Penrith. We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was top notch. I had the fillet steak. It was cooked to perfection and exactly how I like it (medium rare). My wife had the pheasant and again it tasted wonderful. All told a wonderful, relaxing experience and looking forward to our next trip

Has a lovely lunch with 3 friends,food was excellent and service was first class. Ladies toilet was immaculate with lovely products. A very enjoyable afternoon and I would highly recommend.

Excellent meal very good choice on the menu. Had deep fried mushrooms and pollo al forno both were delicious.. There were four of us and all said how nice there food was. We will definitely be back..

Grant’s has an unassuming outside, but we had heard positive things about the food and service. The food was good quality traditional fine dining, though nothing innovative or different. The service was sadly lacking and did not do justice to the quality of food. The table was not set correctly with mismatched cutlery and mismatched wine glasses. The young server had not been shown how to greet customers, pour wine (our bottle loudly plonked on our table without showing us the bottle, or pouring our first glass) and was not familiar enough with the menu to make recommendations, or sell sides. She was not forthcoming with details of the ‘locally sourced cheeses’ on the cheese board and did not get the information despite our request. On the whole, good quality traditional food was let down by front of house staff, and inattention to details that would have really elevated our experience.

Lovely food, quick service, but even quicker to receive the bill without even asking us if we were ready for the bill. Shame it all felt so rushed.

We received a voucher for Afternoon Tea for Two, so decided to book in to brighten up a January day. We booked for 2pm on a Sunday and stood in reception for a little while before being shown in by a gentleman and to our little table for 2 by the window. We were asked if we'd like tea or coffee and had only a short wait before our food and drinks arrived. The lady who brought out our food was friendly and explained what each cake and savory item was on the tea stand. Some of the savory items could have done with being warm, but we're still very tasty. The cakes were all lovely and fresh tasting and was overall very good. There was just the right amount of food too without it being too much. We did hand our voucher over after we has finished and we sat and waited a little while to be acknowledged again before we left, as it would have felt rude to simply leave and not thank anybody and to ensure all was okay with the voucher. All in all a lovely relaxing atmosphere with a friendly team, in a beautiful setting.

Excellent choice and food was delicious and the staff were very friendly we will be back next time we are in the Lakes.

First visit and most definitely will be back, lush food and good service, only one negative I was really disappointed there was no duck for the main which I saw on the online menu, but wasn’t on the menu when we got there.

The food was very good overall, though the Panna cotta, while plentiful, was not like any Panna cotta I'm familiar with. The atmosphere was pleasant, though a loud group nearby made communication within our party of 4 difficult at times (we were upstairs - high ceilings so the acoustics were poor.) The staff were efficient and pleasant, but they seemed detached and perfunctory.

Marvellous dinner ..All 3 courses were excellent , succulent salmon, lovely pork , and divine desserts in very classy surroundings . Service - top notch .

We visit Woodstone every time we're in the Lake District (maybe 3-times /year) & are NEVER disappointed with the flavor of the meals and the excellent service. (LOVE the mixed kababs!)
