The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeDelicious afternoon tea. Lovely, friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenDinner last night and cream tea this afternoon were spectacular, as was the personalized service and gorgeous accommodation. We count ourselves beyond fortunate to have experienced Augill Castle.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenWhat a fabulous Afternoon Tea experience we had at this delightful off-the-beaten track Castle. We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and plentiful, a lovely quirky change from traditional finger sandwiches, and the staff very attentive. We sat in the grounds in the sunshine and it was blissful. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenMe and a friend visited La Mezzaluna on 8th July 2022. We were staying in Carlisle the night before a bike ride from Bowness on Solway to Sunderland in a day. We needed a good hearty meal and the chance to relax before a huge event. We got that and MORE! The food was delicious, I had bread and olives followed by Fusili Campagnola (there is a cycling reference) my friend had Funghi Ripieni followed by Pollo Mezzaluna. The welcome was really warm, but not overpowering. The staff were brilliant, it was a really relaxing evening, they explained everything we needed to know. I had a bottle of red that really complemented the beef and my pal had a pint and a half of Perroni. If you are visiting Carlisle I can readily recommend this lovely little restaurant. There was absolutely no downside.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had an lovely evening here and enjoyed our food, drink and the relaxing atmosphere. Our second time here, we have been waiting to return post covid, and will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Great service too.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFinger prints on all the glasses, wine glasses looked like they'd been on 100s of dishwasher cycles... cloudy and again, full of finger prints. The food... order steak medium, came like shoe leather, chips were dry but the pepper sauce was good and peppery. My partner ordered the belly Pork which was AMAZING. such potential let down buy detail
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely food and service would definitely return, thankyou ☺️
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithI recently had Sunday Lunch here and i must say it was very good and the desert was excellent as were the staff
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food and very good service, I’ll definitely be back.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithI’ve eaten at the Wheatsheaf three times now and on each occasion have been impressed by the standard of the food - a cut about pub food, for sure. The menu is well thought out, a good range of dishes (I don’t eat meat but feel well catered for) which are well cooked and nicely presented. The staff are friendly, confident and attentive. I’ll be back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeDespite being very busy we were served in a friendly and can do manner. The food was great -2 steaks and a scampi - and the wine and drinks were priced well. All young staff were enthusiastic and helpful. We will definitely eat here again
Pheasant Inn – KeswickNice little English pub. Very tasty food with good options including vegetarian, good portion sizes. Doesn’t cater well for children as food served on extremely hot plate placed on high chair tray, very hazardous. Also food plate was too big for the high chair food tray so was difficult to balance and for the child to eat from.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe service was very quick and the food very good value for money and plenty of it Alison
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent scallops, tomato and mozzarella salad and cheese soufflé. Great wine. Very friendly and attentive service. Decor could do with cheering up a bit though it has a certain charm.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithHad a lovely afternoon tea, great service and amazing food! Really enjoyed our experience and sitting outside in the beautiful weather.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenBooked online a week before, easy to do and you receive a reminder too. Arrived a little earlier than the time we booked, that was no problem to the friendly and efficient staff. Whilst it was busy, it was mainly outside in the beer garden. Our Sunday lunch arrived promptly with the freshly cooked veg a minute later, that was no problem as the food was piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and of course the pints of Cumberland went down well too. Highly recommend to anyone wanting good hearty, tasty food, at a very reasonable price.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA busy place, but despite being over run the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delicious, with a good selection of both food and ale. Hopefully I'm back up that way again so I can revisit.
