Salvanas – Barrow-in-FurnessA very pleasant atmosphere and meal together with good service and felt welcomed. Rather busy but not overwhelming and became more relaxed later on as some customers left. Definitely a returning point and good value.
White Mare – SeascaleA comfortable place to stop off for a break with a lovely garden and the sound of the river with the recent good weather. The menu was a bit basic but food was definitely okay. A possible stopping off place when I pass again.
Stanley Arms Hotel – SeascaleIt was a wet Windermere lunchtime in late June when three of us called in for some repast. We were lucky enough to find a vacant table and take advantage of the soup and bacon sandwich special, an inspired choice and great value for money. It was our third attempt in three summers as it had always been full, and is easy to see why. What superb fare and value for money.
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereVisited this restaurant last night and have to say the food was super amazing and even though the restaurant was busy we received excellent service from the staff and I am sure the other tables did too. The table decorations were nice and matched the colour scheme of the walls and the uniform but some pictures were a bit out dated but this has no effect on the dining in this establishment. Really enjoyed spending the evening there and will definitely be going back while we are here.
Indian Ocean – WindermereWe stayed in the village for a celebration weekend and I booked a meal for the Saturday at Beswicks following some really lovely reviews...and I am so glad I did! We had a fantastic evening, from the pre-meal drinks in the lounge to the actuall meal and wine itself. The food and service was outstanding and Dave made us feel very welcome and quite spoilt. Would love to go back again for sure, a must for a visit to the area for everyone.
Beswicks Restaurant – Broughton-in-FurnessOutstanding service staff very kind and polite. fish was cooked to order and perfectly fresh will deffo be going back. I may even try the evening menu.
Arrighi’s Restaurant & Wine Bar – WhitehavenWent on the 8 June had the buffet the food was cold, no taste. Asked if there was anymore beef in black bean, told no they had taken upstairs. Was going there for a family birthday, now not, 2 out of ten sit up.
Jade Fountain – Barrow-in-FurnessGreat selection of beers and a good menu. Seems to be one of the better venues for drinking in the town. We enjoyed our meal and would recommend it.
The Mill At Ulverston – UlverstonGreat place, varied menu, something to suit everyone, eaten there so many times, I've lost count.! Breakfast, lunch or dinner all food top or just a drink.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonOnce again 5 stars for Amigos, beautiful evening sat in the garden, staff so attentive, no special request too much. Food fabulous, a big thank you to chef .
Amigos The Mexican – UlverstonAnother pub that has had a really good makeover. The interior is a mixture of old and new. Dark woods and Chesterfields. The exterior at the rear must be one of the best beer gardens around. Beside a trickling stream and all on well kept grass with a modern, raised and bedecked platform.
The Royal Oak – CartmelAmigos was full when we rang to get a table, however we thought it worth the wait. We had a drink in town and then one downstairs in their cellar bar. We were impressed with the design and little touches in Amigos as well as the original features of the old townhouse. I was very impressed with the Moorhouses Blond Witch bottled ale, as I dont normally like bitter from bottles. The wife had a nice red. We had some fun with the crayons on our table and then enjoyed an excellent and very filling meal. I had Chorizo and Black Pudding and Enchiladas. My wife ribs and a chicken dish. We had patatas bravas as a side but it was completely unneccessary as we couldn't finish our food. We will return and order less next time.
Amigos The Mexican – UlverstonFirst class lunch here last Saturday. Was my wife's birthday and a horrible day outside. We had a table by the fire in an original range. Combined with the low beamed ceilings gave the meal great atmosphere. We had 2 soups, a fish pie and chicken as well as the cheese board all from the lunch TDH. All were excellent. Will be returning soon.
Blacksmiths Arms – Broughton-in-FurnessAll these reviews abouve are written by birds getting knocked off by staff here is the truth. Chicken is tuf as old boots, lamb reheated time after tjme. Not good. The food is terrable, not enough room to swing a cat thats why u have just eaten it.
Prince of India – WindermereA lovely place,we call every time we stay in Carlisle, good food, excellent service very friendly, good value!
Castlegate Coffee House – CarlisleMy birthday celebration with my family at Beswicks was excellent. The fine service and kind welcome by the host was most appreciated and every course was so good especially the fillet steak cooked to everybody's. taste. Hope to be back again very soon.
Beswicks Restaurant – Broughton-in-FurnessA great place to visit in Ambleside. It was very busy for takeaway and eat in, which tells you a lot. Our lunch was great, good food and service. The only complaint was from one of our party who felt the pie had been microwaved when reheated. Still he thought it very tasty
