Cannot recommend Lewis’ Bistro highly enough. Food, service and attention to detail was fantastic and we were made very welcome. What a gem to find this fabulous restaurant in Grasmere - really made our stay in the glorious Lake District.

Two of us ate a really tasty dinner at Lewis's Bistro. The food and service were excellent and it turned out to be by far the best of several meals in Grasmere during a short stay. The food was clearly freshly sources and cooked to order and there was a friendly service atmosphere. The cheese board was particularly notable.

VEGANS & VEGETARIANS BEWARE !!! When ordering our vegetarian order we found out THAT ALL THEIR FRIED FOOD WAS COOKED IN THE SAME OIL AS THE FISH and as was we pointed out to the seemingly uninterested manager and fuming manager that this is not written on the menu to warn all vegans and vegetarians that their chips, sweet potato fries or anything that needed to be fried were in fact not the real real deal The manager was rude and clearly couldn't be bothered and in fact was so rude that he tried desperately to make us feel uncomfortable after complaining which didn't succeed as we just laughed because he reminded us so much of Basil Fawlty from Fawlty towers, but that aside this is a very serious matter indeed and needs to be addressed URGENTLY!!!!!

You have to book on line if you want to make sure you get a seat. Food fantastic, I have food intolerances but they made me a brilliant meal the belly pork you must try slow cooked for 8 hours.

Excellent restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. I ate a Lemon chili chicken fajita and it was divine. We were a party of 8 and everyone loved their food. Note - the desserts are ginormous so you may want to share if your kids opt for them.

A lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting. The staff are friendly, welcoming and provided excellent service. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection. Next time we're in Grasmere we will definitely book a table, many thanks to the team at Lewis's for a memorable experience!

Surroundings, food, service, staff all excellent.

The staff were extremely welcoming upon our arrival, greeting us and giving us a choice of tables even though the restaurant was fairly busy. Service was great, asking us promptly for drinks, again for ordering our food. The food was delicious, we had starter mains and deserts and there wasn’t a single thing wrong with any dish. Thanks for a lovely night and if we return to grasmere we will certainly be back here!

My partner and I stayed in Grasmere this weekend and booked a meal Saturday night at Lewis’s Bistro. Beautiful space, friendly efficient staff and excellent food & wine. We will be visiting again.

We had a wonderful meal on Wednesday, the service was spot on, the food plentyful, cooked very well full of flavour. Excellent value for money if we lived closer we'd be dining here more often. Will definitely be booking again the next time we're in Carlisle.
