Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithFortunately we booked a meal before arriving in Grasmere, and pleased I did because it was heavily booked during the week we stayed in Grasmere, in fact we wished we had booked another evening as well, but it was booked when we decided to have another meal there! The food selection was very good, and the food was excellent and very good value. The staff were super efficient, and the restaurant has a lovely ambiance. All in all, an excellent experience and we highly recommend this restaurant. Well done to all the staff.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereMy wife and myself always go to Lewis’s a couple of times on every visit we make to The Lakes which is normally twice each year. There is always a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and polite. There is a good choice of locally sourced produce on the menu which is always high quality and well presented. Definitely worth a visit but make sure you book in advance !
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food and service was so good I’d recommend this place to anyone Excellent value for money and I’d advise that you book in advance
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBooked here during our short break in Grasmere & weren’t disappointed! Food was tasty & service good. All staff were pleasant, but the young man had a great attitude & reminded us of one of our grandsons! As with most restaurants lately, the prices are a bit high, but I’d still recommend it.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVisited Mezzaluna Saturday 16th, Service was amazing, we didn't have to wait . Our table was ready, the staff were lovely, chatty, & made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious, puddings were even better, would highly recommend this restaurant & will be definitely going back. Thank you all so much.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had a lovely evening here at La Mezzaluna, the food was excellent with a wide selection of gluten free meals, the service was second to none. Highly recommend.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe discovered Lewis Bistro inJuly 2020 when we stayed in Grasmere for first time. We have been back a number of times since. We love this restaurant. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is relaxed. We always have a great night. The chicken dish is superb, as is the steak. We always finish with cheese board. Has never disappointed.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food and very quick service. Our first visit whilst staying in Grasmere and obviously a popular place. Would book again when next in the area. Staff friend attentive but not overly so.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAmazing. Everything from the atmosphere, all the staff and the food we couldn’t fault it. Highly recommended.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. A lovely little gem of a restaurant in the heart of Grasmere. French onion soup for starter was fab. We both had the Cumbrian fillet for main and it was superb. My girlfriend had hers well done, no pink and after a while stopped using the steak knife provided and used the normal knife. It was still so soft and cut through so easily. I’ve been looking forward to a “good” steak for some time and this did not disappoint. Very tasty, great peppercorn sauce, I’d have preferred thick chips rather than fries but it was still a great meal. We shared a sticky toffee pudding to end the meal and again it was so good. When I’m back in Grasmere I’ll be coming back here. Ambience and service was great and the food superb.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was really nice. Just maybe leave the Chorizo of the Scallop dish. Everything else was really excellent and would recommend, Scoring for food is really harsh i.e. from a 5 to a 4 just for the Chorizo. Unfortunatel, but because the way the scoring works
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe enjoyed our visit to Lewis's Bistro. The food was very good and well cooked, although the portion sizes were not overly generous, even for me and I am quite small. The Bakewell tart dessert was particularly delicious. The young man who served us was really friendly and we did not have to wait too long for anything. The atmosphere improved as the evening progressed and the tables filled up, as, unusually, it was quiet and not fully booked when we arrived . We did get talking to the couple on the next table! Our only 'negative' comment is that this is an expensive place to eat. We are fairly used to eating out at 'nice' restaurants in London and Oxford, and this was more expensive than many of them. However, we still have very positive feelings about the evening. Overall, a 'top end' dining experience.

The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenLovely meal with great service. Arrived earlier than planned and was accommodated without fuss.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea yesterday at Augill Castle. We sat by the fire and the room was beautiful. The food was delicious and as a baker myself I'm often hard to impress when it comes to cakes and desserts but they were amazing. We also ordered a gluten free afternoon tea and that ticked all the boxes as well. Thank you.
