Possibly the worst Italian restaurant in the UK. Very bland food, poorly cooked, unfriendly staff and the most unprofessional manager to ever run a restaurant.

Possibly the worst Italian restaurant in the UK. Very bland food, poorly cooked, unfriendly staff and the most unprofessional manager to ever run a restaurant.
Luca’s Ristorante – KeswickQuite possibly the worst place i have ever eaten. the service was appalling and the quality of food well below par. the bar is nice however the food did not seem fresh. it appeared to have come straight out of the microwave. the chef really needs to get out more. would not recommend
Duke of Edinburgh Hotel – Barrow-in-Furnesspopped in for lunch and what a pleasant surprise. lovely meal and service couldn't be faulted.
Abbey House Hotel – Barrow-in-FurnessWe just had to email you to thank you for 4 evenings of excellent food, waiter service and finding the time to talk to us in your busy dining room. Thank you so much to Michael and Matthew, you are such experts at your job, making us feel welcome, your attention to detail, your smartness, your manners and happy faces - your brilliant and at a young age, your an example to others - we wish you all the very best for the future and hope to meet you again one day. Thank you to the Chef who we never met. Your dishes were spot on and just as we like them. On all four nights the standard never varied and we could not wait to try the next dish each day. We did love the pancake though and the sticky toffee pudding the best. John has made the tomato and pepper soup which you gave him the recipe for, tasted similar but not quite the same. Just wish we could enjoy them now that we are home. Thank you Julian (J) for spending the time to talk to us and for making us so welcome at the Lindale Inn. We do hope one day we will be able to return.
Lindale Inn – Grange-over-SandsFood O.K. but menu very limited, good selection of beers. Staff - Unhelpful, rude, arrogant The place - lovely location but the toilets have not been cleaned in months, (human excrement on the toilet cubicle walls) just hope the kitchen is a little cleaner! I would not recommend this establishment!
Pooley Bridge Inn – PenrithWe got married at the Samling, having eaten there a couple of times before. It absolutely lived up to our expectations: wonderful food, great wines, and superb service. Our guests enjoyed all the wonderful bedrooms and we had the time of our lives. We'll be back!
The Samling – WindermereExcellent menu, with specials, lively Italian style, friendly staff, great fun, great food, good value
Giannis Pizzeria – Penrithits been awhile since we've been there we have never been disappointed excellent food staff superb cosy atmosphere food brilliant anything special happening for Xmas
Finkles – KendalService appalling, food overcooked and bland, would never recommend eating here.
Lutwidge Arms Hotel – HolmrookWe ate here for my boyfriends birthday. It was absolutely fan-tast-ic! I left the restaurant not too full i felt sick and not too empty that i was still hungry. Everything was perfect. Can't fault it at all, i recommend this hidden gem to all! I'll be going back!
Gallo Rosso – CarlisleAll nine of us enjoyed a very good meal here. A good menu for both adults and children. Excellent service and good all round value. (Aug 2008)
Travellers Rest Inn – Grasmerelovely food. lovely people. hard to believe you are in denton holme when you are eating food as good as that.
Holme Bistro – CarlisleAuthentic italian cuisine at a reasonable price. Fantastic service from attentive staff. I wouldn't hesitate calling in again the next time that I'm in Bowness.
Villa Positano – WindermereWonderful little Cafe i stumbled across while walking hadrian's wall.small and very eccentric looking from the outside but housed a wonder of deserts and delicious treats. light meals were also served i think. the soup was wonderful and just what i needed on a wet day, also try the banoffi pie it was out of this world. walkers paradise on a wet day!
Capon Tree – Bramptonstunningly good food menu is uninspiring however the goulash remains the only reason i visit keswick(and the beer is top notch)
Dog and Gun – KeswickLooking for somewhere to dine-out in WestCumbria, then I can recommend “Oily’s” for your lunch time meal or evening dinner. On the A595 just out of Workington at Winscales Moor, this recently refurbished ‘pub offers a fine choice of good quality meals, freshly prepared under the direction of mine host and chef Warwick Muir. Not to be missed are his home made steak pie for main course and for sweet his special recipe sticky toffee pudding and for a starter try the spicy tomato soup. For Sunday lunch there is a set menu offering a choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 sweet, giving a 3 course Sunday lunch for under £ 10.00 of outstanding value for money.
Oily’s – WorkingtonI was just up for a bit of climbing and felt like having a change from the usual pub meal so thought I'd give Beswicks a try. What a lucky decision, probably one of the best restaurant meals I've ever had, Brian Middleton
