Went for Sunday Lunch, found the food wonderful and the service excellent. The beer was good as well! Place was in need of a lick of paint, but it is about to undergo a refurb. Highly recommended.
Parkers Arms – Clitheroe

Parkers Arms – ClitheroeI have been to eat at the continental numerous times, and on every occasion the food has been fantastic. The service is always excellent and friendly, and if there is a bit of a wait it is probably because diners have not booked in advance. Last time I dined there I had pork belly with black pudding, which I worried would be very fatty, but it was the best I`d ever had. I love this place! I`d rather nobody else came though, because there have been a few times I haven`t managed to get a table. On second thoughts this is an awful place, stay away you people.
The Continental – Prestonvisited the longlands last night excellent food fantastic choice. just let down by bad service and grumpy staff all in all a nice night out, good value for money
Longlands Hotel and Restaurant – CarnforthWe ate there for the first time yesterday (7th Oct). We had talked about trying it because of its excellent reputation and we were not disappointed. We managed a good value 3-course meal in very good surroundings and close enough to home to encourage a repeat visit. We both enjoyed als which were different to "standard" Italian restaurant fare.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeWe tried the October menu a couple of evenings ago - our second visit to La Locanda - and it was excellent, again. My starter was the smoked wild trout with a pumpkin tart - brilliant. The atmosphere is welcoming and not a bit stuffy, the service is exceptional and it also offers really good value. Can't wait to go back.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeAfter ringing around a few places late on a Thursday evening for a table for 6, I found the red pump on the Internet and gave them a ring. Although they were also full the manager offered us a table in the bar which we accepted with hesitation. Fortunately there was no reason for my concern! the whole place was warm and welcoming the service was friendly and attentive and the food was outstanding!
The Red Pump Inn – Clitheroei have been eating at the anaz for at least 25 years the food and service has always be fantastic. i have eaten Indian food all over England and never had better. first class
Anaz Indian Restaurant – DarwenThis is the best Indian food around. We keep returning time after time, as the food is so good & the waiters are so helpful. You can also take in your own drinks, & they will keep them cool for you. Excellent all round....A1
Balti House – BlackburnGreat would recommend to anyone, great food, great value and nice people
Monte Cristo – AccringtonVery poor service let Mitton hall down for me and my wife - the food was ok, although pricey. I complained and the (pompous) owner was very condescending to me, so I certainly won't be returning Must try harder in these hard times.
Mitton Hall – ClitheroeI eat at Sukhis all the time and his food is delicious. He's a great host and all the staff welcoming and confident in serving customers.I have visited as part of a large group and for a good meal and gossip with a friend and always the service is great and the atmosphere relaxed. If you cannot make up your mind from the menu Sukhi is always happy to discuss your likes and dislikes and offer suggestions .I have never been disappointed with his suggestions. The recent refurbishment has given the restaurant a more modern feel whilst keeping the warm welcoming feel to the place .Sukhis is without doubt the best Indian restaurant around
Raj Mahal – Darwenwe were an organised party of 40+ adults - enjoyed an excellent meal from crackers, soup, ribs, spring rolls, chicken wings, prawn toasts, followed by fried rice with spicy beef, sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, chinese pork, king prawn bird nest, mixed meat curry washed down with excellent wine. Unbelievable value that was enjoyed by all!! Cheers Harry, your wife and staff!
Oriental Buffet Restaurant – BurnleyWent here last night (tues) and we were the first people in the pub but were made to feel very welcome by the lady on the bar. The pub was warm and welcoming. It says on the walls 'we do not serve fast food - we serve good food as quick as we can'. This could not be more true. Our starters (garlic bread and garlic mushrooms) arrived 45 minutes later, they weren't bad but we would not order them again. The mains followed 45 minutes after this, and were not worth the wait. The fishcakes were ok, but the cheese pie was overcooked and had a thick skin on like it had been stored for weeks - i did not eat one bite. On leaving i told the lady who served us (who i think is the land-lady/chefs assistant/waitress and bar person) i was not happy to wait nearly 2 hours for a meal that was not fresh and on a quiet night in the pub - but she did not seem to care. Very, very dissapointed.
The Black Horse – ChorleyThe food at my favourite restaurant has improved ten fold over the past 3 years!!!! keep making me smile x
Pendle Inn – BurnleyThis place offers a real pleasant change to the bland chain pubcos that dominate this country. In the heart of the ribble valley near clitheroe. It's serves top food from its chef patron and I loved the "middle earth" murals in the toilet. I only had a sandwich for lunch but it hit the spot!
Aspinall Arms – ClitheroeVisited pond on sunday had a great time, restaurant was fairly busy and service was very good, our fussy needs were easily met, the food delicious and fresh would definitely recommend, we joined a drink in the lounge area which was most welcome after a huge meal ! and i have suggested we all go for our Christmas do. So we are very excited to come back again. We are already regulars at duk and its lovely to see both doing well.
Duk-Pond – PrestonWent last night with my husband to celebrate my 40th birthday. Had heard brilliant things about this restaurant and Duk, it's sister restaurant, but been unable to get a table in the past. To be honest, though, was really unimpressed. One of the waitresses was very rude to the couple sat next to us while we were waiting to be seated at our table, which put me off immediately. There is a huge amount of choice in the menu, but we chose 12 dishes and didn't think very much of any of them - they weren't very hot when they came out, and most of the lettuce served with the salad garnishes was really past it's best and a bit slimy! I wouldn't have served it in that state to guests in my house! It was as though everything we were being served leftovers from the weekend, and maybe we would have had a better experience later on in the week. It was just ok - I wouldn't return, nor would I bother with Duk. A disappointing celebration.
Duk-Pond – PrestonWe were planning our wedding and contacted several places to make appointments to see them and discuss holding our wedding there. We knew where Ferraris was and that it was a beautiful location. We made an appointment to meet them and turned up on time. There was nobody on reception although there were 2 people setting the tables in the room next door and in full view of us. We waited for 10 minutes before one of them came over and asked what we wanted. When we explained that we had an appointment to see their wedding advisor we were told to sit down and wait. No offer was made of a drink or anything else. It was another 20 minutes before the owner turned up. She made no apology for being 30 minutes late and gave the impression that we were wasting her time. She briefly showed us the wedding reception room and then made it quite obvious that we had outstayed our welcome. No offer was made to show us the rest of the hotel. When we were leaving we noticed a leaflet by the front door promoting a wedding fayre 2 days later. Nobody mentioned this to us at all. It would have been an ideal opportunity to discuss it. When outside we walked round the gardens and found a big pile of sick by the front door that had not been cleaned up. The whole experience was extremely off putting. It is a shame as the hotel is in a lovely location. It is simply let down by the attitude of the owner and staff. We did not feel that they would care about us enough to make our wedding day special.
