The atmosphere was amazing, service was brilliant, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was gorgeous!!

We hadn't seen our friends for ages and they had reserved a table for us at the Farmers as its known locally. We arrived early and sat in the bar area and had a couple of drinks while pondering over the menu and looking at the specials board. What a great choice there was. Judging by the amount of people coming and going from the restaurant part of the establishment. It was wise of our friends to book. The service was not obtrusive, professional, courteous and friendly. We asked for a break between courses. No problem. The presentation of the food was excellent and tasted the same. I think someone said it was under new management. I can only say keep up the good work to the staff and management at. The Farmers Arms. Burscough. We had a great night. Thanks.....

This pub now offers the best food, drink and atmosphere in the area. We used to be able to just walk in and get a table, now you are well advised to book in advance - any night of the week! The menu offers a wide range of excellent dishes and the daily specials are so numerous that 'memorising the specials board' has almost become a pastime. The quality of food and drink and high standards of service go way beyond what you expect for 'pub grub'. The most attractive point in the 'Farmers' though, is the friendly staff and wonderful ambience created by landlord and host Edward. You are made to feel so at home and welcome that you really don't want to leave even after your meal is over. The care and attention to detail is evident throughout, from the decor to the food, the service and the care of the fine ales. This is a pub where everyone really is made to feel special. The canalside location is stunning and deserves a mention but really, you will feel so welcome inside you will hardly want to go outside to admire the view!

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is wonderful, and it is excellent value if you opt of the early bird option which makes starters and deserts half price and main courses £6. Means extra money left over to spend on the old vino. The Simply Squiffy on a Sunday and Monday night is also very good, 3 courses and a bottle of wine each for £15...that's if you can get in, it is very popular.

This place is of the highest quality, and second to none (except perhaps SAGARS of Blackrod, Bolton which is also outstanding). The food and service are excellent, with a wide choice of dishes. The south Indian murghi is a must!

Good authentic Italian food at a price you would expect to pay. Amico Mio isn? going to break any records, or be the finest Italian restaurant you have ever eaten at, but, you certainly won? be disappointed.

I have eaten at this restaurant twice now; both times the service was average to poor. Starters also seemed average but the main courses were very good and this was where they redeemed themselves somewhat. Unfortunately, the service was so bad the second time I won? be returning. Table booked for 9pm, only sat down at 9:50. Missing place settings at the table (only 9 seats for a party of 10), miscounted starters, and excessive wait for drinks, only to not have them turn up and need to ask again. Shame really as the main courses was very good. I would highly recommend the Sagar in Clayton Brook instead

excellent value for money service and staff are very pleasant

I had heard many great things about this restaurant from friends and family but had never actually been until now and all I can say is why didn't I come sooner! I must say that the food here is first class, my wife and I shared the mixed starter for two, and the salt & peppered spare ribs were the best I had ever tasted. For my main course I had the fillet steak chinese style which came out on a sizzling platter and my wife had the sizzling king prawns in wine sauce, both with fried rice. The steak was perfect, very tender and the prawns had been cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would say this restaurant ranks as one of the best if not the best Chinese Restaurant I have ever been to and I will definitely be going again!

After enjoying a night among the Royal sovereign with Boatel Party Cruises in Chorley, I was thrilled with the staff, food, D.J, captain, bar, disco and games. What a fun filled night. I went on an adults cruise but I believe they do all sorts of cruises! Fantastic! What more can I say! I?l be back at Christmas!

Thought I'd give it a go after reading the last review. I was impressed, its a great place.

Great atmosphere, great food, waiting area a bit cramped.

My wife and I and our four kids go to this great place at happy hour. We all eat and have a couple of drinks for around £35-£38.Excellent value. You can? beat it in Lancaster

A lovely restaurant, although it got extremely hot as the evening progressed, it would benefit from air conditioning. Food was good but the drinks were pricey and I object to paying for water with the meal.
