I am really impressed with everything about this nice place.. everything was excellent, the food, service, the welcoming attitude of the staff including the chef. what has really impressed me was the presentation of the dishes, superb! care was taken with every other detail, the dim lights, the jazzy comforting music. I was very proud when I felt my guests were so pleased.

My wife and I came last Sunday evening at 8pm. Found difficulty in parking - parked next door! Restaurant noisy - if you like it like that; but friendly waiters(also noisy!). Food was fine, and the service was ok without being over attentive. House wine was quite drinkable and reasonably priced. Other wines cost quite a bit more.

We have been regulars for some time, and the atmosphere is great. I even proposed to my wife there. You do have to wait a while when its busy, but a lot of Italians do this, and I think that it adds to the atmosphere, especially if you drink whilst waiting..! If you don't want to wait, I suggest you go mid week or on a hot, sunny Saturday night when people are having Barbeques. That way you can walk straight to a table if you want. The food is really excellent. Spaghetti Amatriciana at 8 quid is a favourite, as is the Pate starter, and the prices are generally cheap considering its good quality. However, if you fancy a blow out, there's loads of fuller meals to tempt you. I agree that the tables / decor is a bit dated, but I think that this also adds to the old tratoria charm. We went to Sorrento last year, and I never say a plush "next style" leather backed chair / poncy chrome all the time I was there...? All in all, its probably the nearest that you are likely to get to a traditional Italian restaurant in the Blackburn / Preston area. You may think this is a bold statement, but we have tried a lot of Italians around the Blackburn area, i.e. Francos in ossy and Langho, The Scicilian place near the walton arms (just off the M65), Amico Mios in Clitheroe, That place in Bamber Bridge? These are all very good restaurants, but Checcos really does have an edge. The staff are also almost all Italian, and if you fancy it, they even help you with the Lingo....? So that I give a balanced view, the slightly less positive sides are that they no longer do cheap Caraffes of Wine, for those budget nights, so you have to go for the real stuff, but this is only standard price, i.e. 12 quid upwards. There specials are also very static if you go a lot (as we do), but if its your first trip, then I suppose they'll still be special to you. I have heard that they are soon to revamp the waiting area soon, so hopefully, this will sort the decor for those who like a sparkle when they go out. Hopefully, it won't lose its charm though... Enjoy..!

Been going for about 3 years now and everytime been just as good. Great food & service and not to badly priced either. Fantastic vegetarian options too. Garlic mushrooms and profiteroles are to die for, if you like pizza try Calzone they are massive. Fantastic place, best Italian ive been too.

The mid-week table d'hote menu is excellent value with a good choice, including wine. If you prefer a much wider choice then the a' la carte menu is superb with very generous portions. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Booking recommended especially at peak times.

I loved the atmosphere in this very high stylish very up to date modern restaurant. All the staff are very friendly and make you feel right at home. I love the ambience and the food is to die for I have been on numerous occasions and have never yet been disappointed in anything ive chosen to eat the food is great and so is the service give it a try I? sure you?l love it

My wife and i have been going to ninos for the last 15 years, maybe twice a year, infact i proposed to my wife at ninos, the food at that time was superb, sadly the last 2 times we have been there my fillet steak has been a bit on the tough side, to there credit they didn? charge me for my steak, however i did wonder if as they have expanded have they started to get a bit complacent regarding the quality of there produce. Anyway August the 11th is my wife? 50th and we will be going there with a party of friends so i will see if things have changed. martin and Tricia King.

Once you have had a taste of the Spanish cuisine at the casa tapas you will never want to go any where else. BRILLIANT PLACE!

We went to the Live Band night on one Friday. The band was great and the atmosphere was fab. We are going again very soon, cant wait!

We have been twice now - once with the Children on a Sunday afternoon and as a couple on a Saturday evening. The food and wine are a little expensive compared to the "faster" type outlets but it is well worth the extra. The whole presentation of the place is refreshing and attractive. The service is exceptional and the food delicious and presented in a fine way. My only gripe is that there is no waiting space or reception area at the front and it is awkward if there are a few of you waiting for tablesŠIf this was sorted then the whole experience would be exceptional.

great place great staff drinks bit expensive but not 2 bad 2-50 for a small bottle of water bit pricey also my daughter got a j20 that was 2-50 aswell

We were a party of 30 celebrating my sons 21st. What a fabulous night we had. The staff are excellent and fulfilled all my requirements. We were looked after like we were royalty and made to feel very welcome. The food was just delicious and everyone thoroughly themselves. i think quite a few people from our party will be returning again, myself included. I can't thank Mark and his wonderful staff enough. THANKS!

this was our first visit to 'Huntleys' after hearing many good comments from friends. We were not disappointed, the food was fantastic. the mixed grill was the best I've ever seen, and tasted. the duck and fillet given ten out of ten by my guests. The waiting staff fantastic, not stiff and starchy but friendly and attentive making the whole experience relaxed and very inviting, we will return.

The menu is not extensive but reasonable priced the lamb shank just fell off the bone

Thursday 29/3/07 We arrived on a wet and dismal day, but the staff made us feel very welcome, We were meeting relations from Leeds and wanted to relax and have a good lunch and a chat. We were not disappointed The food was brilliant, from the home made soup to the rag steak puddings, to a belly busting jam roly poly. With the warm welcome continuing all afternoon. nothing was too much trouble. A brilliant fine and we will be back again. As chairman of the Bury IAM. this would be a great place for a Sunday drive or treasure hunt ending here for a meal.

Tastey Fried Chicken, I recommend anyone giving Dixiplus a try - you will return ...
