Great Sunday Lunch

Had yet another fabulous meal at the Craven Arms. Always feel very welcomed, staff are friendly and attentive. Lovely restaurant area with views over open fields, good space between tables. Great menu , with a variety of dishes, excellent portion sizes and great tasting, quality food. Definitely recommend.

We came for our son’s 14th birthday on 22nd March (his choice). There were 7 of us with a range of ages. So sorry we didn’t get our main servers name; guy with the fisherman’s hat on. He was so friendly and welcoming. We thought he went above and beyond for our son, chatting to him, and making him feel special. Thank you for that, you were so kind. The food as always was delicious. We had Sunday lunches and a sharing platter. Huge portions and so tasty. Drinks were reasonably priced and wine was tasty as was the mocktail and fruit soda. You can’t beat a pint of red stripe either! The music was good and the atmosphere inviting and vibey. Will see you again for sure. Thank you team Roots, 100% recommended!

Food was excellent and very tasty

Excellent food, Sirloin steak very tender and perfectly cooked. Other family members enjoyed the Sunday Roast and the Steak and Ale pie. Service was very good considering the restaurant was extremely busy. Big shout out to Charlotte on the bar for her expertise in making my wife a wonderful Pina Colada (as good as the ones she enjoyed in Cuba she staed).

We had driven past many years and meant to try the Craven Arms. We booked at 4pm and were surprised that the restaurant was nearly full which is a good sign. We were looking forward to eating Sunday lunch. My husband chose gammon steak with chips egg and pineapple. It looked delicious and was substantial. I chose roast beef with roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding with 3 types of vegetables. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was good. We both said we will return.

This was our first visit and it was fabulous! It was Sunday lunchtime so it was very quiet but we received a very warm welcome from the young gentleman who served up. It was nice to have hot plates and the food was outstanding. We had a range of tapas items and every one was packed with flavour. Even our cockapoo was given some treats! We'll definitely be back!

We visited on a Friday afternoon. There were 3 of us and we ordered 9 tapas dishes. When the food arrived half of them were cold. Also for the price you pay the portions were tiny. The staff did arrange for them to be reheated and the waiting staff were very good. We did visit in December and the same thing happened but they said the chef was busy preparing for an event on the evening. We thought we would give them another chance as we have visited in the past and it had been very good. U fortunately we will not be coming again

Nine of us for a celebration lunch. Excellent food and service as usual. Maxi's is a restaurant not to be missed for quality.

Food was absolutely next level the Birra taco was an assault on the taste buds just bursts of different flavours my mouth is still watering thinking about them again i will be back very soon to sample more of the menu chorizo corn dogs was unreal also had the fish taco that was yet another flavour explosion beautiful symphony of texture balance and a nice kick of spice to finish loved my dining experience staff where all very attentive and professional see you again soon guys :) to top it off I couldn’t believe how cheap the bill was too win win Yes Then!

We visited little Sicily on Friday 20th March for my wife’s birthday, we’ve been meaning to go for ages and so glad we finally did!! The staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful, we will be back soon!!
