I have been here several times and have always had prompt and excellent food and service. I brought 5 family members for lunch after telling them how great the place was. Unfortunately, we went on a day where there were only two waitresses and apparently very few kitchen staff. They did their best but we waited an hour for our food which, I think most people would agree, is unacceptable. We pre booked but our table wasn't even ready when we arrived! We were not informed of the potential wait or we would have gone elsewhere. My Father is quite elderly and infirm and was most uncomfortable sitting for so long! We thought we were taking him out for a treat! Even a regular update on the status of our order would have been appreciated but we had to try numerous times to get the waitress' attention to find this out. The food was fine when it arrived but the experience has made me apprehensive about visiting again. Very disappointed.

We've been coming here for many years and there's nowhere quite like it. Delicious and hearty, plenty of good wine by the glass and always a warm welcome.

We had a brilliant team lunch here. From the start, Glenn was amazing at handling our multiple requests and last-minute changes over email. The staff on the day were so attentive, making sure we had a great meal while keeping us on track with our busy schedule. The food was delicious and inclusive of everyone's dietary needs.

Had wanted to try Food For Cowboys for a while and got the opportunity a couple of nights ago. Love the vibe of the kitchen when you walk in. Everyone so friendly. Had cactus paddles which was a new one on us, delicious. Tacos were extremely tasty and the ox cheek sandwich was very flavoursome. Didn’t have time for dessert but they looked nice. Will absolutely return and would highly recommend this quirky exciting restaurant

Both the starters and the main meals were tasty and plentiful, as were the chunky chips as a side dish. Would definitely recommend trying the rump steak stroganoff as a main meal and the garlic mushrooms as a starter. It's a shame that there weren't very many people in for a Saturday evening. Well worth a visit

We always love a meal at Le Bistro. The food is good and the welcome is warm. You just can’t beat the French onion soup… I always want more!

We really enjoyed being the guests of Charlotte and her team of friendly playful cats. The experience is well organised with good guidance on how to interact with the cats. The highlight was being able to hand feed them with chicken! The coffee and cakes were splendid. Highly recommend Tabby Cat Teas if you enjoy hanging out with felines. However, this team needs some ginger cats please!

Spur of the moment Sunday lunch for two. Just had the main course and went for the beef and the vegetarian toad in the hole. Service was friendly and efficient with the food being piping hot and delicious. Only minor, minor point was not a huge choice on the menu for vegetarians but the veggie dinner did come with non-goose fat cooked roast potatoes and vegetarian gravy. Highly recommend, will be back.

Lovely food great friendly staff always accomadating lovely atmosphere would definitely recommend we stopped by chance on the way to somewhere else before Christmas then we we were going bk same place to buy something else near bye and booked up again on the way bk home lovely food great place thanks for a lovely experience and great food

Love Tabby Teas, the atmosphere is lovely and peaceful for the kitty cats and it’s never over crowded. You get so much tea in the tea pots! Their cakes and big cookies are delicious too. The staff are so lovely, friendly and polite.

Not the best service, i would say slow, waited over 35 minutes for Sunday lunch, which was just ok, definitely not value for money, we chose a Rose wine which was delicious

We had a lovely time at the Royal Oak last Saturday. Hearty food, warm atmosphere and friendly service along with great company made for a great lunch out. Good value and the Staveley Game Pheasant delicious!
