A group of three of us called in for a meal after a day out in The Dales. I had booked online the night before, and was drawn here by the good, up to date website, online menu, online booking, and some imaginative vegetarian options. As a veggie, I'm so used to having to settle for a burger or a flavourless curry which looks like it's come from a Tesco ready-meal, or a mushroom risotto served in a tiny ramakin with side-salad (because, apparently, vegetarians mustn't be hungry), while my non-veggie friends tuck into pie or chips, which is more what you want after a day out in the countryside. The pub has a cosy bar area and a separate dining room, with a more sophisticated feel, but not stuffy or formal. The drinks options at the bar were superb, a perfectly served pint of Landlord (well kept, fresh, correct temperature, well pulled) and even a local scrumpy cask cider - a rarity for this neck of the woods. The food did not disappoint. For mains, the vegetarian mushroom pie was awesome, a proper pie with mash and root veg and plenty of gravy. For once, I felt like the chef had given as much care and consideration to the veggie option as they had the meat dishes. My friends (not veggie) had what one described as the best cooked piece of fish (cod) he'd ever had, and a piece of beef which looked so succulent it was literally falling apart. Top notch, one of the best pub meals I've had in ages. The service was friendly, attentive and relaxed, and the general vibe was very pleasant. Well done Craven Arms, you will definitely be seeing us again!

Never fails to impress. All food freshly cooked. Excellent choice with regular menu changes with good value for money., Small plates suit our appetites, even better when there are excellent choices available. Our last visit was small plates Sunday Lunch again with excellent choices and you can determine how much you wish to eat. Service is excellent. I recommend this restaurant to anyone as the menu is changed regularly and the food is always hot and presented well.,

We regularly visit Le Bistro on a Saturday lunch time when visiting our family and have always had excellent food and great service. However on 7/11 we visited for my partners birthday. It was much busier than usual and the staff were running all over the place trying to keep up. Yes many things about the service were not great but what I would say , for us, this was not the norm and won’t stop us coming back. The young lad in charge ( don’t know his name apologies) was doing his best and was still friendly, polite and apologetic in very challenging circumstances !

We had a lovely Sunday lunch yesterday. Plenty of choice, both meats and vegetables. Food was nice and hot. Reasonably priced as well. Staff are lovely and take time to chat. Thank you especially Mark.

Sunday Lunch We booked on the online service and arrived a bit early so had a drink at the bar. Lovely young lady served and was very friendly. We were seated and ordered and nothing was too much trouble. Food explained and options given. Food arrived and was beautiful. Our party had beef, gammon and veg sausage toad in the hole. Food was well presented and hot and there was plenty. We also had dessert which we loved. Lovely afternoon and great food and service.

Had Sunday Lunch on te 9th of November. It was fantastic & the service was equally fantastic.

Had a really great evening at The Kings Arms last Saturday. We pre-ordered which was fine and on the night everything just flowed. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were attentive yet relaxed. Darren, Gwen, Chef and all involved big thanks to you for making a family meal so enjoyable. This is quality food without the starchy restaurant feel and stupid prices. Well worth a visit. Graham Nov 25

An excellent meal with a mixture of Dim sum and dishes from the A la carte menu, all arrived without delay with staff who were attentive and courteous and provided a feeling of participation with our meal to add to the enjoyment

I do love the Bay Horse restaurant, it’s a great place to bring my friends n family who are visiting the area . This was my 2nd visit and it didn’t disappoint. The attention to detail is great, you feel very welcomed upon arrival. All 3 courses on offer were excellent. Thank you.

Great food and service in an old pub oozing character.

My daughter and I had a great time! The cats are amazing, love feeding them and playing with the fishing rods with them. Lovely to see their individual characters. Staff were so helpful and polite. We bought some cakes and drinks however time was very short to enjoy them and was shame that we need to leave although we didn't finish our food.... in my opinion you should extend the session to 1hr.30mnt as 1hr is very very short time to eat and play with cats...
