Went on Sunday having had the place recommended to us, when booking over the phone I was promised “the best Sunday lunch in Skipton “, the service was good, had to wait 35 minutes for food, staff lovely but I have to say the temperature of the food was only luke warm, the food was good the beef fantastic but so disappointed with the lack of heat. Would I go back, yes I’d try it again. When the bill was brought I was asked re my food and I did mention that I was disappointed with the temperature he did apologise although nothing he could do, 5 mins later at the till when paying he asked again if everything had been ok, and I reminded him of the temperature, so within 5 minutes he had forgotten. I also think the 10% service charge should NOT be added on when the bill is brought to you, but asked at the till if you want it adding

At first we were gutted but honestly it was the most amazing food I've eaten in a while. The beef short ribs and country fried chicken oh god it was fantastic !! We were 5 minutes early but our table was ready so got seated straight away which was good as it was very busy. We ordered a sharing platter of the Sunday roast which was all 3 meats and absolutely loads of veg and Yorkshire puddings. I asked for extra gravy and we were brought a large gravy boat with the meal. I didn’t catch our waiters name but he was very polite and efficient. My only disappointment was I was too full for a pudding so will have to go back soon for one.

The Bay Horse at Ravensworth – RichmondSadly this was a disappointing experience. We were a table of 6 and were booked early when few tables were occupied. Our starters were not delivered together - about 15 minutes from the first to last being delivered. It appears that one of them had been forgotten. Main courses were delivered closer together but I reckon the quality of the cooking was medium, not high. Service was patchy. This was due in part to a very new team member (presumably not well trained), and no team work between the servers and the kitchen. The kitchen seemed to be struggling to get out food orders. One of the serving staff spent a long time chatting to a couple at a nearby table who he appeared to know well - to the detriment of the service overall. This will be our last visit!

Comfortable warm rooms a great shower, good selection of beer on tap and an excellent meal followed by a very comfortable night's sleep, an excellent full Yorkshire breakfast saw us rejuvenated for another busy day.
