Prashad – BradfordBest Kept Secret. Blah Bar do the best Sunday lunch in Barnsley. The food iis always excellent, and in my opinion restaurant standard. The staff are lovely and so helpful. The Chef changes the menu most weeks, but you can always have the roast beef Sunday lunch. Cannot recommend it enough. Prices are very reasonable, £10 for a 3 course. During the winter months, £5 for a main course. You cannot do it as cheap at home. I have eaten in the week, the food again excellent, always a changing menu. Def a hidden gem.
Blah Bar & Grill – BarnsleyOscars is always a pleasant place to eat and the food and wine is always at reasonable prices. very enjoyable
Oscars Wine Bar and Bistro – YorkAfter dining at the Cow and Calf on the evening of the 19th March, and being a regular customer , I am sorry to have to say that the service was appalling. We ordered our drinks and meal at the desk and after some wines not being available we sat and waited for our main course, which took some time to arrive. It was hot and well cooked and presented. However, when we ordered our dessert we waited around 50 minutes for it and decided we could wait no longer. When we queried this at the desk we were told there was no slip for our desserts, even though our waitress had enquired previously when they would be ready. We paid and left without coffees or desserts and were very disappointed at our treatment. I think it will be a long time before we will be back.
Cow and Calf Vintage Inn – IlkleyWent to this place last night Saturday 20th March 2011, I was with friends and family and we had prior booked a table, on our arrival I noticed that the bar staff were miserable and during the meal I was forced on two occasions to leave the table to order and fetch back drinks, the service was simply rubbish, I found the food just like typical pub food but very very over priced, needless to say I will not be returning... not in a million years!
Moorcock Inn – Sowerby BridgeI went to the Moorcock last night Saturday 19th March with family and friends, We all had a starter and main course and I have to be honest I will never go back to this place I was so disappointed, the bar staff were miserable and I was forced to go to the bar from our table on two occasions to order and bring back drinks to our table, I felt that I was actually doing their job for them, I found it very pricey when it came to the bill and the food wasn't at all any different to pub food, in all it was a let down and a bad experience, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Curry Lounge – Roundhayfab for lunch or evening cocktails.
Circle Lounge – Halifaxhighly recommended for the fab food & wide choice of dishes, restaurant is homely & stylish. Staff always friendly & welcoming & nothing is too much trouble. Nice wine too. We had our informal wedding reception here (july 2010) & it was perfect-the food, service, everything. Thanks to Johnny, Matt & the team for helping to make it a day to remember.
The Stump Cross Inn – HalifaxReally enjoyed our evening here late February: food and wine were excellent and we were really made to feel at home. Unpretentious and flexible, this is a place we will visit again as it compares well with some of the over-priced, loud places nearby.

Balti House Restaurant – KeighleyBRILL!!! I want to thank Rik who posted his recommendation on 12 Dec 2010. You were spot on mate, spot on! Food was fantastic and the service brilliant, even got a FREE BOTTLE OF WINE!!!! Went in on Saturday night, 12 March 2011 it wasn't full, but not empty either. Took the mrs and my mate and his mrs. We all agreed the food tasted beautiful, really tasty. Can't believe they've never advertised the restaurant, but I can understand in this day and age. Word of mouth will defo spread - from me anyway! Food for 4 of us was about £10 per head, popadums, pickle tray, starters, mains and naans. Gr8!!! Go and try, you won't know until u do!!! You might even get a bottle of wine! FREE!!!
Leenas – HuddersfieldI don't think that you will publish this, but I think that you should, especially if you are fair and straight with you recommendations. Went on Friday night, with 9 of my friends - on the recommendation of two of your readers, Leo 18 Jan, and Tony 19 Aug 2010. Not very impressed, Food was average as was the deco, service ok. I did however ask about the awards, and was told that any restaurant can buy them in exchange for advertising with the advertisers - staff member was then told off by management for telling us this. Sorry, but won't be going back
Chilli Lounge – HuddersfieldWe had a meal on Sunday evening there for the first time. And it was a good experience. The restaurant look better than the food (the french menu, but adjusted for English), but still was OK. The good thing is you can have a set menu that is available all the time not like at most restaurants for specific course. Will go again in summer time.
Brasserie Blanc – Leeds City CentreI've been going to Little Tokyo for nearly ten years, but I think it has gone really downhill in recent years, in terms of both the quality of the food, hygiene, and the service. Seeing a rat-trap outside the kitchen is not a good sign, and while they make a big deal of their vegan and vegetarian options, after being served meat (something that has also happened to vegetarian friends of mine) I really don't trust them. My last visit to Little Tokyo (and I do mean 'last visit')was with a friend, who like myself is not only vegan, but a long standing Little Tokyo customer. The restaurant was very quiet, and in fact we were the only diners seated downstairs when our order was taken. My friend ordered a bento box set with tofu steak and I ordered a vegetarian ramen dish. While ordering asked the waiter if the noodle dish came with tofu and he said that it did. I also said that I was vegan. When the dish came the waiter said that he hoped there was enough tofu in it for me. In fact it had meat in it, and because it was dark in the restaurant I put some in my mouth. For someone who is a strict vegan of many years this was a disgusting experience and I had to go to the toilet to be sick. I wasn't even offered a glass of water, and when I asked to speak to the manager I was told there was no manager there. I then had to pay for this awful experience. A written complaint did not even receive an acknowledgement. I would never set foot in Little Tokyo again.
