Will not be visiting again, I’ve been to this establishment around 5 times and exactly the same thing has happened. Lack of staff to cover tables, the atmosphere we created are selves with no help from staff Portion control actually looks a lot until you look properly it’s full of chips, rice and salad which with there astronomical prices is abysmal, the foods authentic but certainly planned out well extra large serving trays with very little meat fish etc, Last night we ordered 3 hot Meze’s for 6 people plus extra food and instead of serving 2 portions per 2 people it was put on trays with servings for 2 people, 3 people ? And 1 person it was then I noticed once again No calamari which is included only when I asked where it was I was told, sorry it’s not available only as the staff who are more concerned serving very expensive drinks every 5 minutes than serving food a supervisor took some money off the drinks. As stated food is very nice but not enough of it, service very poor and extremely poor value for money as this has happened before I’ll go back to a reputable establishment which I visit regularly

Food is always gorgeous and at a good price. The menu gives lots of tempting, tasty options using locally sourced ingredients. Welcoming and friendly team always look after you. One of my favourite places to eat, highly recommended!

Excellent food and service

A Saturday afternoon with friends and had an amazing time at Harringtons. Excellent food, amazing selection of drinks and the service was spot on. Can't recommend Harrington's highly enough.

We came to celebrate the mother's 60th birthday as a table of 14. We are a mixed group of young and old some with allergies and one vegetarian and we all enjoyed our food immensely. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough, they made the celebration so special for us, would recommend this place to anyone na dthe location is fab

Best meal ever!! Husband had the fillet steak and it melted in you mouth, I had fish n chips was just perfect. Wouldn’t go anywere else and going to book again over Christmas holidays. Staff were so friendly and such a lovely atmosphere , Going to recommend it to all my family and friends.

Food just outstanding, best meal my wife and I have had . Staff were very friendly and such a relaxing atmosphere. Can’t wait to return to experience it all again, especially the food . Thank you

Had an excellent meal here last night. Food was piping hot, fresh and delicious. Best restaurant in St Helens by far. Second time we’ve been and second time we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back again at some point :)

I booked a table for 4 based on the reviews for the vegan options as half of our party where vegans the food was amazing not one bad dish there where plenty of vegan choices which was a nice surprise and the staff where very friendly, I would highly recommend going vegan or not all the food is top quality, it’s a lovely family run restaurant

Me and my partners first time at What's Cooking was a delight. Friendly staff who catered to our booking request instantly and was very attentive to our needs! We were so shocked when we seen the size of our sharer! We couldn't finish it all! Amazing value for money and all cooked to perfection! We will definitely be back again! -- The only thing I would say is I felt as if there could've been more attention to see if we wanted more drinks, or at the end when we wanted to pay, we felt as if no one was around for a while! --

It was fairly quiet as it was lunchtime but there was still a nice atmosphere. We sat in one of the round booth seats. There was plenty of choice and the food came quickly. It was tasty ad great value. The waiting on staff were polite and attentive.

Lovely meal at What's Cooking. We all enjoyed our meals. We tend to book this restaurant, as the food is great, lovely atmosphere, a nice old view, perfect for people watching! The staff are always courteous and very helpful.

Excellent meal for my father’s 86th birthday. Food superb, staff helpful and friendly and the service was very efficient.

Fantastic little spot. Great service and food. Only suggestion would be to offer some other form of bread aside from sourdough. I’m not a fan as I find it too hard and there was no alternative.

We booked for 5pm and were the first ones in, we were met with an overwhelming smell of damp, or something, I mentioned it to the waitress who didn't know what it was, we asked to be moved to the back area where it seemed only slightly better. The food was exceptional, as per previous times we've visits and didn't disappoint. The restaurant tables filled up so the smell didn't put people off. I feel it spoiled our experience.

Had a lovely night at Harrington's, food was very good, wide selection of drinks, service was impeccable and live music too. Would highly recommend a visit to this family run business.
