OSQA – Liverpool City CentreService excellent, food and wine also excellent, lovely decor
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreAs I don't dine out often, I like it to be something special when I do. And Neighbourhood fits the bill perfectly - accessible, imaginative, enjoyable food that I probably wouldn't have had the time or energy to cook for myself, served by staff who are kind and attentive but not overly so and who want you to enjoy your evening, and that includes the kids. And while the breakfasts are pricey, you won't need lunch and can probably save on therapy. A plate of Manhattan Eggs with a latte must be worth an hour in a psychiatrist's chair...or so I imagine, having tried only the Manhattan Eggs!
Neighbourhood – ChildwallOverall the quality of the food was good but the service didn't match. They got our drinks order wrong and our food order and their attitude vaguely implied that it was us who had made the error. Our bill was also wrong! At which point we'd given up. We had to ask for drinks as we were left without any and ask about puddings as no one bothered once our mains had been cleared. This clearly hasn't happened to other reviewers so maybe it was an 'off' night! Not sure I'd go back though.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreI have been here a few times now, with friends and family. The £3.50 carvery is fantastic value for money - Mon - Sat. I think it goes to £7 on Sundays. Usual 3 meat option with no extra slices no matter how nice you ask, but loads of roasties and veg etc ;-) Highly recommended...
Halfway House Toby Restaurant – ChildwallI have been to Bistro Jacques on many occasions and I can 100% say that this is my favourite restaurant in Liverpool. The food is fantastic, full of flavour, plenty of it and very warming. Atmosphere, well having lived in Paris I can say it does give that Parisian Bistro feel. The service is excellent, staff are fabulous and the chef's are worth their weight in gold. To top it all off I am always amazed on how small the bill is at the end of meal! I was recommended this restaurant and I have in turn recommended this restaurant to my friends and people I know. I'm also pleased to have been able to recommend a restaurant that has now also turned out to be one of their favourites too. One piece of advice though...book in advance as this restaurant is very popular!
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreWhat a great little restaurant. Food is just fantastic and we only found it by chance, its tucked away on Aigburth Road close to the cricket club. Great atmosphere, close to all amenities, very relaxed and food was best we have tasted, will be returning and telling our friends about it. Highly recommended.
Pauls Place – Mossley HillMe and 4 friends attended Las iguanas 01/11/08. We are local and were looking forward to the new restaurants in Liverpool one. However it was a shambles! The food we ordered arrived an hour later, it then came separately and two were cold. The food was not up to standard in comparison to the price you paid. There was an apology of the waiter but no manager to be seen! There was also arguing amongst the staff next to our table.
Las Iguanas – Liverpool City CentreWe thoroughly enjoy our regular visits to The Kerala Kitchen, the quality of the food is superb with the added bonus of Kerala cuisine being different to traditional Indian food. You are welcomed by friendly, courteous members of staff who are very obliging in catering for specific or individual requests, all at a reasonable price. The vegetarian and vegan food is superb and highly recommended. A gem of a restaurant.
Kerala Kitchen – BirkenheadFood was lovely, service was a let down. Had to pour our own wine and leave the table to request more drinks as the waiters were not present. Also, for a brand new restaurant, I felt the facilities were a let down - only one ladies toilet in the whole place, which meant there was always a long queue of people through the bar area. Views are amazing, would rate food as 8/10 but I wouldn't return as it did not live up to the high expectations I had.

Panoramic 34 – Liverpool City CentreBooked Sunday lunch following recommendations and good reviews. Disappointing hardly cuts it. Decor was through rustic to shabby, no menus just board, very limited choice, one meat roast one nut roast then salads and sandwiches of one sort or another - even had run out of toasties (requested in desperation). What food we had was at best average. Had asked for a "good" table and while it offered some seclusion it was under a skylight which was leaking and wet our coats, bags etc. which had to be "hung up" on the floor. Atmosphere lively and obviously popular but at best cheap and cheerful (?) for a student perhaps but does not compare with proper restaurants on Lark Lane. Sorry.
Keith’s Food & Wine Bar – AigburthWe ate recently at the Que Pasa and took advantage of their midweek meal deal. The house white wine is excellent and this was free as we had two courses each. The portion sizes are great if you love your food. Nacho's to start we shared and then I had the special homemade burger which was scrummy and partner had the monkfish Which he happily announced was superb. Dessert was divine. It was the house apple pie special. It was quiet for a Monday night but that suited us nicely for celebrating our anniversary.
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthVisited 22nd October. Excellent choice of food.Good standard. Will be back !!!
Yums Oriental Buffet – Liverpool City CentreA word of caution !! My girlfriend and I visited the Mayflower on Wednesday 22nd October 2008.We have visited there many times before, because they have a special menu for £10 pp. till 10 pm. It even has it on the window outside. We arrived at 8.30 and the restaurant was busy, but we where shown a table for two right away. We where given menu's but then asked to see the special as normal , to which we where told that they where not serving it because they where so busy. Well if you advertise it, in my book you should serve it , and just cos you got a rush on , doesn't mean you can turn it on and off when you want to profiteer..!! We got up and walked out.We wont return. You have lost out regular custom !!!!
Mayflower – Liverpool City CentreThis is not a recommendation however but would like other people to know about my recent visit - 8th October 2008. Disaster! Starters ok but a loooooonnnnng wait, house wine vile and they wouldn't let us return it because we had poured it into our glasses from their caraf (not bottle). Main course; everything salty and we never add salt, not even to chips. The alternative was pitta and dips because others were already eating their main course and we didn't want another long wait. Pudding; can't remember!!! which speaks volumes. We did get a sambuca each for my birthday however, the male waiter had the wrong attitude and we felt so sorry for the waitress who tried to help. We can't understand why everything was so bad because we have friends who eat their all the time.
