i visited the bakers dozen on 20/3/11 with my partner ,the food was brilliant and excellent value, we have relatives visiting from both Spain and the isle-of man on 27/03/11 and we intend eating again at the bakers dozen aintree brilliant what more can i say highly recommended

Lovely food and lovely service at a very good price. Nice to have a very good restaurant like this in our area. RECOMMEND.

Without doubt, the Tai Pan is the most consistent Chinese restaurant in Liverpool for quality of food and its pricing is second to none. In every respect, it is the most outstanding Chinese restaurant within Merseyside. At one time in the past, Tai Pan had the most beautiful female receptionist (Mei). WOW!

We ate from the a la carte dinner menu and can honestly say this was the worst meal we have had for many years. The Chef - if there was an actual Chef - had no knowledge of food whatsoever. All 4 diners had both starters and mains which were flavourless, not as described in the menu and virtually inedible. After complaining to the waiter - who was eventually helpful - he consulted the manager who did not even bother to come and speak to us although she agreed that we shouldn't pay for any main courses.in a bid to salvage the evening we ordered a cheeseboard and were served up a few dog ends of cheese - not the selection described on the menu. After further complaints the skater served us a decent cheeseboard - we believe independently of the 'Chef' Needless to say we will not be returning. Very disappointing. Given the great location it is a Shem that there is not a good restaurant there serving good food competently.

The food was second. To none, the service was quick, And the price was very good,we will be going back

Had a great meal recently, the service and food is excellent, and as other reviews have said it is quite different from most of the Indian restaurants around. The starters are really substantial and the naan bread to die for. All in all a very good night the food and service very good, will be going back again soon

beautiful ! high quality fresh ingredients with too many tasty sounding options.portions are big especially the starters.try the reshmi chicken ,it melts in the mouth.service really good ,maybe a little stuffy at times but overall fab.i could eat their 5 times a week !

Off to Owens again tonight with friends,you would think there was nowhere else to eat but we know we can't go wrong. We have taken friends from America and Scotland and all agree it is an enjoyable dining experience and its right on our doorstep! The food is most enjoyable,especially the scallops and sea bass.I was there recently with a friend and she was served white bread with her soup which she cannot eat so we asked if there was any brown bread. Unfortunately they had run out but our waiter disappeared into the kitchen and came out with some delicious,hot,brown bread which the chef very kindly gave us-it was his own bread that he had shopped for to take home- how about that for service!

Excellent value on 2 for £10. not tried others no need. Staff excellent, nothing any trouble from them on our numerous visits, going tonight and Sat having already been last Tuesday.so it must be good. Location is also excellent and very relaxing, not like a pub.NO TV's great!

A very warm back to the south Liverpool dining scene to Maitre Chef, David Roberts who is once more in his kitchen cooking gastronomic extravaganzas. First class food coming out of this new Woolton eatery

We were so pleased with them in Morton we have followed them to Bootle and the venue might be different but the food and the atmosphere was wonderful. Nothing was to much trouble and we found it was like going to visit friends and although its a journey this will be a regular for us in the future.

I went to the Pioneer just recently on a Saturday night, The bar area was very very busy, The food there was absolutely fantastic. My steak was cooked to perfection. The portion was just enough so you are full but not uncomfortable, the brownie dessert was nothing short of fantastic the both of us are still raving about it now. We will both be back together and with friends very shortly 10/10

Recommended by a friend we visited Tiffin tonight. Very attentive friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere. We bought a bottle of wine from the off licence next door, glasses provided, no corkage! Food was great, starters were quick, mains were timed well. We regularly eat Indian and this ranks in the top 5 we have visited. Good choice of meals and starters, they even have an Indian Tapas menu (great idea!!) where you can share and try smaller portions of loads of meals. Overall, would recommend and will definitely return, cant wait to try the tapas!!

Have been visiting Esteban's for a number of years, but was extremely disappointed with both the service and food on a recent visit. After having booked a table we had to wait 35 minutes to be seated and whilst we appreciated it was busy, the attitude of the person in charge towards us was both condescending and unhelpful. It's a shame if Estebans becomes too complacent as there are other Spanish tapas restaurants clients can go to for similarly priced meals and more authentic food.

I have dined at Indian restaurants in London, Edinburgh, Manchester and the home counties. What impressed me about the Tiffin was the quality and freshness of the food. The portions were generous and the choices of tapas excellent. The opportunity of taking your own alcohol with you allows you to bring your own or make use of the wine shops next door - super! The owner is very courteous and helpful and makes you very welcome. Liverpool could do with more establishments like this. We will be back.
